Our son has been with Shotley Bridge Nursery School since he was 15 months old, he's 3 now. He's just entered their third room, so he's gone through all three and we've found all of them to be amazing. The staff are extremely caring and work so hard to create learning opportunities. They teach independence in a loving way and use an approach of heuristic play and Montessori-inspired toys and methods. There are no plastic toys, it's natural materials and lots of open-ended resources. Communication with the carers as well as staff who deal with invoices has always been quick and helpful. There is only one thing that I'm not happy with: the amount of chips the children get for lunch. It's up to 3x a week of some type of oven chips, whilst I personally think we don't have to get children used to cheap fried foods at all, I'd like to see different grains etc. But overall meals are good too, standard nursery catering, no sweet deserts, just plain yoghurt which is great, and the snacks they make themselves are fab.

We cannot rate Shotley Bridge Nursery highly enough. The staff are excellent, very professional and incredibly skilled in what they do. Our son's transition into their baby group from being at home full-time was handled sensitively and very well. Their communications have always been excellent and he is flourishing with the support of the practitioners at the nursery.

Our daughter moved to Shotley Bridge in April 2022 after her previous nursery closed and the staff could not have been more accommodating in the transition. Staff worked with us to get to know her personality and interests and they were fantastic at settling her into the new environment. She has flourished under the care of experienced practitioners and, in particular, her key workers who she is extremely fond of. New training and ideas are regularly injected into our daughter's play and her ability to develop literacy and numeracy skills through her play and her particular interests has been excellent. I am confident she will be ready for school this year and can't thank all of the staff enough for helping her to become independent and confident to take that next step and supporting us as parents as well. We've been so impressed that we have enrolled our son to start at the nursery in 2025 when I return to work. Would highly recommend it.

Both of my daughters attended Shotley Bridge Nursery School and it was the best thing for them. Like any parent, I was worried about leaving them but that worry soon disappeared when I saw how safe and happy they were. The staff go above and beyond, they are so friendly and supportive and my children both developed strong bonds with the staff. They are great at keeping you up to date with your child's progress on the app and it makes my day to see pictures of them having fun! My youngest's journey at Shotley Bridge Nursery School is coming to an end soon and I'll be very sad to see her leave, but I know the team have prepared her well for the next stage of her education.

Wonderfully nurturing setting! Both of our children have attended Shotley Bridge Nursery School and both have thrived in the caring, fun and safe environment, experiencing lots of exciting things, kept active and readied for their next steps.

Both my sons attended Shotley Bridge Nursery School. When you walk in there is a lovely friendly atmosphere, the nursery clearly has picked the right people as the staff resonate a desire to get the best out of the children there, they are so friendly and approachable, communication with the nursery is clear and any issues that need addressing are done so in a professional and timely manner. It's clean, has plenty activities for the children and both my boys loved going.

Our daughter has been at Shotley Bridge Nursery School since October 2022 and she has thrived. We have been very happy with the level of support and care from the practitioners throughout. I love the updates of what she has been up to on the app. I am looking forward to seeing hopefully positive changes with the new owners. I still have some reservations about the catering.

Our children have been at Shotley Bridge Nursery since 2020 and we have been so impressed. The staff are brilliant. They are very caring and both of our children have formed close bonds with them. Our son has now gone to school and still loves to go in for a cuddle when we pick up his sister! We get regular updates on how our children are doing and it is easy to discuss their development etc with their key workers. We are confident that they are in a safe and nurturing environment at the nursery. We are really pleased we chose Shotley Bridge and our children have been very happy there.

My little girl started Shotley Bridge Nursery School in April 2024 and since then her development has been incredible. We had gone to visit the nursery at their open day in March to get an idea of what it was like, ready for my daughter being eligible for funded hours in September, however, we were so blown away by how great the setting is we decided to send her privately as soon as possible. We even tasted the food at the open day and can say it was better than some restaurants in the area! The nursery is always very clean, the parent app is updated often to show pictures, what they're up to as well as nappies, meals and naps. Both the nursery manager and deputy manager get involved and know all of the children too which is great. We are so grateful for all the staff for the amazing job they do. I could not find a single fault with this nursery.

The staff make this nursery the incredible place it is for our son to feel safe and thrive. They have helped him navigate his way through crawling, walking, speech, emotional understanding and so much more in the 2 years he has been there. I really do believe he has had the best start in life with Shotley Bridge Nursery and the commitment, structure and care they provide. As a parent, I have felt heard when voicing any concerns I've had about my child's pace of learning and his key worker has worked with me and our son on this to help him and he is doing great!

Our son started the nursery in June and was very dubious about going. He is still very young and the staff at Shotley Bridge have been absolutely amazing with him. His confidence is growing every day, we are regularly updated about his progress and achievements, what meals he has had and nappy changes. The communication is second to none and the care he receives every minute of every day while he is there really reassures me as a parent that it was the best option for him. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. I would definitely recommend this nursery to anyone.

We had had a great experience with the staff. The environment is warm and welcoming and the daily posts are great. Keep up the good work. My son has already developed his walking and fine motor skills even in the short time he has attended so far. Thank you.

The team at Shotley Bridge have been great with our son, he is always excited to see them and loves nursery. The frequent updates provided are great to see how he is doing. Their focus on outdoor play is great and his development has been fantastic.

We are coming to the end of my little boy's time at Shotley Bridge Nursery School and we are (all) going to be so sad on his last day! My son started during the height of the pandemic in 2020 and from day 1 we knew we had made the right choice. The staff are all so attentive, kind and knowledgeable. The setting is always changing and the children are stimulated and encouraged to be independent whilst being fully supported and safe. Our son has made some strong attachments whilst at the nursery, and while it will be hard to see them come to an end, we know he has been prepared well for future change and the challenges of school.

I couldn't be happier with the care my child receives from the team at Shotley Bridge nursery. From day one, they have created a warm, welcoming, and safe environment that has always put me at ease. My son is always happy when I collect him at the end of the day. His days seem full and plenty of outdoor play, which my Son loves! All the team are incredibly attentive and genuinely care about each child's well-being and development. Their communication with us is fantastic, keeping us updated with regular photos and progress reports. Highly recommend to any parents seeking excellent care for their children!

The nursery have been fantastic in supporting our child with toilet training and have provided guidance to both his mother and myself as to how we can work together to make the transition as smooth as possible. They continuously work with us to understand areas for development and give us consistent updates throughout his nursery days. The compliments we receive are a reflection of the care and support he gets from all of the staff at Shotley Bridge Nursery school and for that we are extremely grateful that he attends this fantastic nursery.

I can't fault Shotley Bridge Nursery School and highly recommend it to any parent. The staff are super attentive and genuinely care about each child's development. The facilities are clean, safe, and packed with educational toys and activities. My son has really thrived since starting there, thanks to the engaging activities and great outdoor play area. Communication with parents is excellent, with regular updates on our child's progress. The staff truly go above and beyond to create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.

We have been very happy with Shotley Bridge Nursery School since my son started in January of this year. He loves going there and is often getting stuck into different activities on each visit. They spend as much time outside as possible which is a big positive as well. It seems to be a safe environment in which he has grown a lot over the last few months. The ladies who work there are all super friendly, and the updates they provide on the app every day are great.
