View Full Details of Independent Place NurseryOur little boy attended Independent Place Nursery from 1yr until he left for reception in September 2025. The staff are so caring, go above and beyond to nurture the children and help them to thrive, finding individual ways to connect with them to help them settle with genuine care, connection & compassion. The key workers are very creative & vibrant, finding fun & stimulating activities for the children. There is also a great program of activities which our son loved - from Yoga to Spanish lessons which really enriched his experience. He made a great little band of friends which was amazing to see them all growing & flourishing together. The communication is fantastic with the staff, giving a verbal report at the end of everyday. The food is all made in house, which was also a great highlight for our son! We have nothing but fond memories of the time he spent at Independent Place & are super greatful to the staff for the part they played in shaping his first years
Our child has just started at Independent Place and we could not be happier! We were really anxious with the transition to nursery and how our child would cope with the change but the whole experience has been extremely positive and the team have been incredibly supportive. The team at IP genuinely care so much about the children and show such love and care in their work with them. They are kind and gentle and worked closely with us to ensure our child had a gentle and smooth transition to nursery. The class/group sizes are small and the environment calm and not overwhelming. The activies and curriculum is engaging, thought through and varied with alot of collabouration with the parents. The team provide consistent and regular updates and there is a genuine community that has developed with the families which we were immediately welcomed into. Very happy with the care provided and could not recommend highly enough!
Our daughter has been at The Independent Place Nursery since she was 9 months old, and after half a year we couldn't be happier. From day one, the staff have been warm, caring, and genuinely invested in her wellbeing. She lights up when she sees her key workers, which has made it so much easier for us to be apart from her. The environment is engaging and stimulating, with varied activities that help her learn and grow. Regular events involving parents are a lovely touch, helping us feel part of the community. Communication is excellent, and we always feel informed about her day, progress, and those little moments that mean so much. The nursery has a real family feel, where every child is valued as an individual. We feel so lucky to have found a place where our daughter is happy, confident, and thriving
We sent our son to independent place when he was a year old and he is just about to graduate, as well as our younger daughter. The staff are warm, caring and creative, there is a really varied programme of activities and it communication was always reliable. Both our children have loved being there, I would highly recommend
Absolutely amazing and caring staff, exceptional communication, daily updates and wonderful support to our daughter during settling in process. She seems to be enjoying creative play, great food selection and daily activities they come up with all the time. Independent Place is the best nursery choice we have made!
My son has been going to independent place nursery for a year now (since he 10 months old) - he absolutely loves it. The staff are so thoughtful and attentive, I really feel like we can trust them and that they actually care about him. The activities and specialist teachers they bring on are also great, and the space / gardens are lovely. Would highly recommend this nursery to any parents in the area.
We couldn't speak more highly of The Independent Place. They take such wonderful care of our daughter. We regularly receive updates and photos, which we really appreciate, and she is always excited to go. She absolutely adores the team who look after her and we do too.
Both our children have attended Independent Place from the age of 1 and absolutely love it! The staff are friendly, kind and caring - many have been there for our whole time at the nursery and have formed strong bonds with our children. They put a lot of thought into what each child needs and how best to support them, and do an excellent job of communicating with parents. The facilities are great as well - our son loves playing football in the garden! We'll be very sad when their time at the nursery comes to an end.
Both of our kids attend Independent Place and it is an amazing nursery. Staff is so caring and going above and beyond to nurture the children and help them to thrive. Early years education is so important and here the children get to spend the day in a stimulating, warm and friendly environment. My children's teachers know them since they are very small, they know their strengths and weaknesses and try to support them growing into confident but caring little beings. The nursery itself has a very cute garden and is nicely secluded in this residential area, far away from the hectic of Dalston. It is quite small and furnished with attention to detail.
Both my daughters have been at Independent Place from 10 months old to pre-school/reception age, and both have had a wonderful time, creating strong bonds with staff that, in the case of the eldest daughter, have lasted years after she left for school. The staff are wonderful, the facilities and care are excellent, and the variety of activities and outings is also great.
Our toddler has been at Independent Place Nursery since May 2024 and we couldn't be happier. The staff are so warm and caring and they do such amazing activities. They are super careful with her dietary needs and she is delighted she is to go in the morning and so excited if she sees any of the staff outside of nursery hours. I feel like they've had such a huge hand in her development and I am so grateful for the warmth and love they give all the children, I've seen staff literally spend the whole time I was there for an event cuddling an upset settling in the baby in the sweetest way, more than once. They put so much thought into activities and learning, and they listen so much to parents' requests and thoughts. I'll be sad when she goes to school. They also have access to a beautiful garden and the babies have their own lovely garden where they had fun in a paddling pool in the summer described to me as 'nappies and vibes' which I loved.
Our daughter attended Independent Place from age 10 months until she started school aged 4.5. The team is incredibly caring and thoughtful with the children and we always knew she was well looked after. The leadership is great and has been consistent the whole time we've been there. She made great friends at the nursery too which is down to the efforts the team makes to do a range of activities with the children. In addition, they have a great early years curriculum and she leaves the nursery with excellent phonics and maths knowledge and is definitely ready for school. We feel very lucky to have had her start at Independent Place and would not hesitate to recommend it.
My son went to Independent Place from approx. Aug 2023 - Aug 2024. He was looked after and guided, and his key workers really cared about him in the toddler room. I know the key workers all helped each other out, however, and all were very kind and engaged. They genuinely wanted to do a good job with the kids and were attached. I also noticed little things like he'd come home having learnt a sign (sign language), and learnt to indicate what song he'd like me to sing, and I credit them with helping him to walk, drink independently, and sit well-behaved at meals. We supported him at home, but I think the support and environment at the nursery really helped too. They engage in messy play/coordination activities, and have a little garden they make the most of (a real plus in London). Admin: We loved the weekly summaries, a wide range of themed activities, and blog posts so parents get insight into the activities, which some other nurseries don't do. We were sad to leave! Heartfelt thank you.
Very happy with my boy' 2 years at Independent Place Nursery. They have created an atmosphere that made him excited to go to nursery and have struck a good blend of free play and learning. I think they also helped him handle the transition to school very well!
My son joined the nursery 2 years ago, it was a big time in his life as we had moved house, moved nursery and given him a sibling in a short space of time. The staff at Independent Place were amazing at helping him to settle, he developed an amazingly close bond with his keyworker which helped him develop and transition with confidence from the toddler room to the preschool room. He thrived In their close and friendly atmosphere. Loving every day there and enjoying the outdoor space, creativity and extracurricular classes. Our youngest son is now in the toddler room and has the same initial key worker as our first and is loving his time there just as much.
Excellent nursery with amazing, dedicated, and creative teachers! Our daughter was at Independent Place for nearly four years. Positive experience from baby room to preschool. Visiting teachers and local trips enhanced learning. Communication was always great through the app, conversations at pickup, and parents' evenings.
Our son has been at Independent Place for 2 months and we are thrilled with how it’s going. His key worker and room leader are caring and fun. He smiles when we drop him off. The nursery also does a great job of creating new experiences for the little ones.
Staff are amazing and the activities they hold are brilliant, and my daughter settled well and had a great time at the nursery. Although I would say they could spend more time outdoors and they really need to sort out the pram park (it has been half built with no shelf to slide prams onto - very poorly designed for the space. However, my huge negative is that head office and management are a nightmare. We had to move our daughter out of the nursery after they made drastic changes to our booking pattern includes hours per day and days of the week - they wanted to up her days but couldn't give us any choice on the day so it became unfeasible for her to attend, we were given under 2 months notice of this, which I think is appalling when they know how long it can take to replace a child. They then promised a leaving party for my daughter which never happened, at the end we were made to feel like she was just a number and it was very un 'Child First' approach.
We have had a brilliant experience with Independent Place Nursery so far. Our daughter has been attending since November and it has made returning to work so much easier for me knowing that she is getting the very best in care and attention. The nursery put a lot of thought and effort into providing amazing sensory and development activities for the kids every day and they also have external visitors working with the children on things like phonics, movement and singing. The facilities are top-notch, as is the menu which is healthy and diverse. We receive regular updates via an app throughout the day and are often invited in to parents' evenings. The staff are fantastic - warm, very professional and work with our daughter on developmental aspects such as crawling and self-feeding.
Our son started in the baby room of Independent Place Nursery five months ago and we couldn't be happier. He absolutely loves going to nursery, the staff are extremely nice and always go the extra mile to come up with fun and educational activities for the babies. They also have external people coming in every week for certain activities including yoga, music etc.
