View Full Details of Bright Horizons Ely Day Nursery and PreschoolI have had a very positive experience with Bright Horizons in Ely. My daughter has just started in the baby room. I found the settling in process was very well thought out, and although longer compared to other nurseries, allowed for both me and my child to be reassured about her starting, in order for me to return to work. The key workers are really lovely and very attentive to my child's needs. They also provide regular updates.
The nursery has gone above and beyond to help my son settle in. They offered extra settling in session for him as he really struggled at the start and offered an experienced practitioner to be his key worker. Since then, they have really supported his development by practising physio and other exercises that have been recommended. Great communication from both the management and the baby team. Thank you for everything!
Overall very good, excellent staff and parents can have full confidence in the level of care. Our child is always happy to be dropped off with her key worker. Regular progress reports are given and staff are friendly.
This nursery is one of the best nurseries. My child went to preschool and the ladies were really interactive with the children. My daughter absolutely loved going there and her key worker... my daughter just loved her. They are giving cuddles when a child needs it. They do play dates where parents are allowed to go in as well. My daughter was very excited when those days came about. Admin part, I find getting replies to emails is slow and no point even to try to call reception. Otherwise, everyone is very kind and friendly. Food is different to what we are cooking at home but I am happy for that. She got to try new things.
The team is incredibly responsive and genuinely honest, which has made working with them a pleasure. Communication with both the management team and the staff has been smooth and effective, ensuring that we're always on the same page. They demonstrate true compassion and care for the children, going above and beyond to make them feel supported and valued. This level of dedication has given us peace of mind and confidence in their care. Overall, we couldn't be happier with our experience and feel fortunate to have found such a caring and professional team.
My child attends Bright Horizons two days per week. The staff are fantastic and always ask how they are, how the rest of their week has been. The taster/settling-in sessions included are brilliant to get the child and parents used to dropping off and staying at nursery. They always provide photos of my child that are showing activities they have been doing during the week.
My son has been attending Bright Horizons since September and has progressed a lot in this time. All of the staff are amazing with him and have built an amazing bond with him. They provide great activities for him and cook fresh meals daily for him to enjoy.
Bright Horizons Ely Day Nursery and Preschool is a wonderful nursery, my son has been attending since he was 11 months old and is now 2.5 years old. He first learned how to use a spoon at Bright Horizons, we were pretty shocked when we found out he could use one at 1-year-old! Periodically, there are parents' evenings where you can have more in-depth chats about your child's progress, these are really useful to discuss any issues or anything that you'd like your key worker to spend time with your child on. Staff will take time to tell you how your child's day has been. They are supportive of things you are trying to implement at home and will try to do the same at nursery, e.g. I used a specific technique for potty training and I wrote down what I want/don't want regarding potty training and my son's key worker ensured that these were followed.
Great team of caring people who have a passion for child care and development. Would recommend. Opening hours are ideal for working parents. Everyone there is like family and my children really enjoy it.
Our experience with Bright Horizons Ely Day Nursery and Preschool has been nothing short of amazing. Naturally, we were worried our son wouldn't settle during his first few weeks but the staff went above and beyond to make sure he did and to reassure us at every possible moment. The attention to detail of all the staff is great and everyone is super friendly and passionate. We are happy to have chosen Bright Horizons Ely!
Our daughter joined Bright Horizons Ely Day Nursery and Preschool in April this year. Despite some nervousness about how she may settle in, we needn't have worried. The manager and her team go above and beyond to make sure that the children receive the very best care. A variety of activities always seem to be on offer for our daughter to do and she always comes home with a smile on her face.
Really lovely, caring staff. Transparent and ready to go above and beyond. We've had to get extra help with allergies and they've been so good at making sure our daughter is protected and safe. What lovely people.
If you're looking for a safe place to send your kids, this place is not it. Over the last 6 months, I felt anxious leaving my child in their care. At pick-up time they would come home with deep scratches which have scared their face and arms, constant bruises on their back, bite marks, and large bumps to the back of the head. All caused by one other child. In the end, they stopped logging incidents and telling us about them. We would only find out by seeing teeth marks or bruises on their body when we picked them up. There were multiple complaints raised by myself and other parents encountering the same issue, but nothing has ever been done to keep the kids safe. Sadly after so many years and good friendships, I decided to remove my child from their 'care' for the sake of their wellbeing and safety. I would not be able to recommend Bright Horizon Ely at all, as children's safety should come first and that is not the case for the management of this nursery.
Generally very attentive and gentle staff. It's, overall, a lovely environment for children to thrive and develop in which I see my child is very happy. Only criticism would be not having any detailed feedback on a daily basis regarding my individual child, although it is appreciated that is difficult and unrealistic so not an issue or concern.
It has been a wonderful experience in all aspects! It was just the first month in the nursery and our child loves it and generally enjoys being with his new friends. Peace of mind for us.
I have complete trust in everyone at Bright Horizons Ely Day Nursery and Preschool to give my daughter the safest and happiest experience. She comes out with a smile every single day and I cannot fault a single member of staff. The love and care they have for the children is second to none. Thank you for everything you do. The enrichment they plan for the children and resources for parents they make are fantastic. Everyone works so hard!
We were engaged in our child's daily life and activities in the nursery on the Father's Day tea. Staff were kind enough to show and explain what activities children are doing, how much fun they have and how they are progressing their development. It was a nice and cosy day for all of us. Thank you for your hard work.
Amazing communication, great with my son. Always give extra communication if drop-off is particularly difficult. The app is super handy to see how the day has gone, what he has eaten or whether he has napped.
We are incredibly pleased with Bright Horizons Ely Day Nursery and Preschool. The staff are attentive and really care for our child's development and well-being. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and confident in their ability to provide a safe and engaging environment for our child. There is lots of space in the rooms and we really like that there is the free flow of being in and outdoors. We receive regular updates and photos that keep us informed about our child's activities and progress. Overall, the nursery has exceeded our expectations. Our child loves attending and has flourished in their care. We recommend this nursery to any parents looking for a supportive and engaging environment for their child.
After 2 years, we have had to remove our daughter from this school due to serious concerns for her welfare. The toddler room was great, teachers were great and our child learned and developed at a great pace. Then Pre-school. - High turnover of staff - Key worker changed every 2 months - Regular low staff-to-child ratios, especially at collection times (as I have not been to the nursery during the day). Then the safety questions.... - Daughter has multiple deep scratches all over her face. The school never contacted us at all to inform us. - Daughter had a seriously large lump on the back of her head with bloody speckles. - Daughter had a bite mark and teeth imprint on her hand. - Daughter was punched in the back in front of me. - All by the same one child. Complaints were raised to on-site management, escalated to the safeguarding team, escalated to a regional director and all failed to action any plan to safeguard the children.
