The staff are amazing, very friendly and engaging. My child loves to attend and talks about nursery all the time. The outdoor space is great! My childs social and learning skills have developed no end. Fully recommend!

Fantastic nursery. Our little one has been at the cottage since he was 18 months old and loves it!! He runs up the drive and into nursery excitedly each session. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend

Couldn't recommend enough both Children love to go and enjoy the daily amazing activities that are not only fun but help there development. Kept up to date with daily info and pictures with an app so kept in loop while need to work. They have helped every step of way from weaning, trying different foods and helping progress in toilet training, walking, talking and much more. Like an extended family giving a caring social setting ensuring kids are ready for the next big step. Also communication is great and if needing to add extra days / swap always been as helpful as possible.

Since my son has attended this nursery he seems to have come on leaps and bounds. He is a lot more confident in everyday activities and I know all the staff at the nursery do the upmost to bring out the very best in a child. The app is brilliant for viewing how his day has is going, and also communicating any needs of the day without having to phone up. All staff are polite and friendly towards us when we are in the nursery. The fact the children are taken outside as soon as the British weather allows is fantastic. Also the trips to the park are a brilliant idea. I only have 2 bug bears with the nursery; parents parking right on the junction at mornings time during drop off. It makes it very dangerous for anyone walking to drop their children off for the morning (dropped kerbs are parked over) you also cannot see if anyone is turning off the busy main road, a message from management to all may help with this. Also the fact the funded hours aren't averaged over the year / month.

Absolutely fantastic nursery. I have sent all of my children to this nursery and they have been looked after so well. My children have all developed so well here too. The staff are great, they have great communication, updating you all the time throughout the day how your child is. They also follow everything that you ask of them and want the very best for your children. I would recommend this nursery to anyone.

My little boy loves going to nursery, holding his arms out to the nursery nurses in the morning. He loves the messy play and time outside! I have had no concerns since he started and it's lovely to watch him grow in confidence as he explores different areas at nursery. He also enjoys the added activities such as boogy beats.

Great nursery and lovely staff who have helped my son so much with his eating! Staff are always willing to give a debrief about his day and explain what they have been doing. The app used is great too! My son always enters nursery excitedly and loves going and has a lovely bond with his keyworker. Also pretty sure my son's favourite person is the nursery manager as he looks for her as soon as we get to nursery and gives her the biggest smile!

This nursery is by far the best one I've personally took my child too, and will take my future kids to aswell. My daughter always comes back with a massive smile on her face, and tells us all the activities she has done. They use an app which informs the parents on whats going off, such as activities, nap times and also incident reports which is really great! This puts your mind at ease when they are there. Could not recommend this enough.

Amazing nursery, I feel totally at ease leaving my little girl here, she absolutely loves it too! She always tells me how excited she is to go. All the staff are lovely and have really helped develop my little one :)

My child really enjoys attending the cottage day nursery and has progressed within her development. Staff are understanding and kind. All three of my children have attended the cottage day nursery. The opening and closing time is perfect for my work schedule.

My little girl started when only 8 months old. I felt a little sad to be sending her at such a young age. She is now 1 and I am so glad she started so early. She has settled in amazingly well and you can just tell she loves it. When I drop her off she smiles at whoever I hand her too. I'm lucky to get a look back as she's looking upstairs to go to baby and toddler rooms to play. Love the fact they get to go out to the library and park as this is something I used to do with her when on maternity leave. All the staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. The nursery app is also great to check in on what they have been up to, eaten and when they've napped etc. The food menu is also great, sometimes when I'm at work with my sandwich I think Ooohh spoilt girl!! I would 100% recommend The Cottage in Heanor.

We have been using this nursery since September 2024. My daughter has really come on since attending nursery, is saying more and more words and phrases, doing signs to different nursery rhymes and eating really well. The staff are so lovely, always have time to speak at the end of the day and always keep updated. They do send occasional pictures to let you know what your child has been doing throughout the day. If circumstances change and your child needs anything extra doing during the day they are brilliant at making sure medication or cream is applied which really eases your mind during a long day at work.

My child has been at cottage day nursery for some time now. They provide such an enjoyable and secure environment for children. My child has developed immensely, being in a social and encouraging space. As a worrying parent they put me at ease with how they deal with situations or with a request I have. All the ladies are so welcoming and friendly. Such a fantastic place for a developing child

Both of our boys have attended The Cottage Day Nursery at Heanor. Our eldest has additional needs and staff couldn't have been more supportive in trying to learn about him and his needs as well as how to best support him at nursery. Staff also went above and beyond with regards to his transition to Reception, fully supporting him every step of the way. Our youngest attends The Cottage now and he is absolutely thriving, staff know him well, communicate with us about his progress and he always has fun at nursery. The extra activities such as library visits, community walks and watching eggs hatch into chicks are all fantastic additions to what's on offer day to day. We couldn't recommend The Cottage at Heanor any more!

Wonderful place and atmosphere! Our little one loves it here! Would recommend it to anyone wanting to send their child here. The staff are brilliant, attentive and caring. Nothing is too much trouble, and they are always quick to respond to any questions. Great nursery!

We have been with The Cottage Day Nursery for just over 18 months now, and can hand on heart say this was the best decision we ever made for our little one. Not only are they professional, but they have such a high standard throughout the establishment, and this is shown through every interaction we have ever had with them. They are super skilled and have a great level of knowledge and understanding when it comes to helping us raise our children and encourage them to be the best version of themself. The staff at The Cottage have also been incredibly supportive when it comes to looking after our little one who has some additional developmental needs and pointing us and supporting us in accessing additional support. The staff here are simply amazing, and no amount of words will ever be able to explain the gratitude I have for all those involved in our little ones' care.

All the staff are really lovely! My little boy is going here for a year now. The food must be delicious as he eats great. He can also have his nap in peace and quiet. Developing and learning a lot, so thank you for your hard work! .

We love the nursery. All the staff are very nice and caring. Our son seems to enjoy being there, has lovely friends, and overall, there usually is a nice and relaxed atmosphere. The garden is good (although some real grass would be nice) and the kids can (and do) enjoy it daily. The opening times are very convenient, there is even a drop-off shed for pushchairs.

My daughter’s experience at The Cottage has been fabulous. She always speaks about the staff and care in glowing terms and has made a wonderful group of friends during her time at the nursery. She’s become a confident, independent young girl at The Cottage, and is developing new skills and words all the time. She also thoroughly enjoys the enrichment activities, which include visits to the local care home, library and parks, and visits from the chicks at Easter. The communication from the nursery is also excellent. We receive regular updates on what she’s doing, what activities are taking place, and if there’s an accident.

Both my children have attended the nursery, and I have always been extremely happy with the care they have received. Management and all staff have always been very approachable, but at the same time very easy to talk to. Highly recommend.
