View Full Details of Ladybird Nursery - AnerleyWe couldn't be more grateful for the experience our daughter had at Ladybird Nursery Anerley. From early on, she thrived-consistently happy, confident, and excited to go in every day. The staff are great: warm, caring, and creative. There's a real sense of community at Ladybird, and we always felt that our daughter was not just well cared for, but genuinely known and nurtured as an individual. The team are always thinking of new and engaging ways to spark the children's curiosity and creativity, and it made such a difference to our daughter's early development. When it came time for her to leave for primary school, we were genuinely sad to say goodbye-it felt like leaving a second family. Thankfully, our youngest has now started at Ladybird too and is already settling in beautifully. It's such a comfort to know she's in such a positive, supportive environment.
We could not have been happier with our daughter's experience at Ladybird. She joined at 11 months and after a somewhat tricky settle in (to not fault of the nursery), soon grew to love the staff and nursery. She has just left at 4 and a half to go to school and we were all so sad for her to leave - even though our second baby was due to join the following week. We have been very impressed by their care, communication and commitment to the welfare and development of our children and are very happy our son is being looked after by them for the next 3 years.
My son attended Ladybird Anerley from the age of 1 year to 4 years 3 months, before heading off to school. He (and we!) loved the experience from start to finish. The staff were kind and caring throughout and really formed a bond with our son that went above and beyond what we expected. We always felt that he was in extremely good hands when we dropped him off. Key things: * lots of opportunities for creativity, including drawing, painting and messy play. * lots of reading - he often tells about stories we have never read him. * trips out: to the local park, to the local shops. * community atmosphere and events at the nursery: Christmas Fair, Fathers/Mothers day events * weekly multi-sports lesson from an external provider, and Spanish lessons too On a more practical level, the nursery is clean and organised, and our son enjoyed the food. At the end of nursery our son got a place at a competitive private school in London.
I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. My son has had three very happy years here and is heading off to school full of confidence and excited for the challenge ahead due to the care, encouragement and stimulation the wonderful nursery staff have given him. The creative output they provide is truly fantastic, from art to baking to Spanish to dancing to water games in the garden during hot weather and Christmas parties and fairs during the winter. As an active child he has plenty of opportunity to let off steam in the garden or during Mini Athletics which he loves. The nursery also encourages a love of books which is great for us to see at home when he tells us about his favourites. Parents are given regular feedback and if there is ever a learning point the nursery staff are quick to raise it and discuss how best to speak to the child about it so that there is consistent messaging. I have loved watching him thrive in this environment and can only hope he loves school as much.
After a disappointing previous nursery experience, we approached Ladybird Anerley (Jan 2024-Aug 2025) with natural apprehension. What an absolutely incredible journey it's been! The staff and management are genuinely exceptional, proactive, thoughtful, and truly caring. Our daughter has completely blossomed, coming home excited every single day, eager to share all the wonderful activities and fun experiences. The warm smiles at drop-off and pick up, detailed daily updates, and genuine interest in her development made all the difference. My parental anxiety completely disappeared knowing she was in such amazing hands. The team's energy and dedication is remarkable. As she transitions to primary school, we'll miss Ladybirds tremendously. Cannot recommend this outstanding nursery highly enough - what a truly amazing team!
Our daughter started attending Ladybird Nursery Anerley between 2021 and 2024 (starting at 10 months). During covid and lockdowns we essentially only had a handful of reviews to use to choose the nursery and were naturally very worried - but everything went great - daily photos and updates did wonders to reassure in the baby class. Later on it was beautiful to see the confidence and character of our daughter develop and I am very happy we went here. Naturally, there were moments when it was harder - particularly when moving rooms, developmental leap and readjusting on coming back from holidays all coincided. At those moments the two-way affection displayed between the key person and our daughter was the main force reassuring us that we were leaving her in good hands.
Our son attended Ladybird Anerley for 2 years, aged 1 to 3, and I can't recommend it highly enough. All the teachers are so friendly and form lovely bonds with the children. They also remember parents' names and are really good at updating the app throughout the day with information about sleep, food, toilet visits and then lots of photos. They were particularly helpful with potty training! I liked the small rooms meaning our son got lots of attention from the teachers and formed some great friendships. The garden is great and external companies provide athletics and Spanish classes.
I would really recommend Ladybird Anerley. My first son joined at age 2 in the toddler room and is about to start Primary school, and my youngest started at age 1 in the baby room. Both have flourished here becoming caring, confident boys who love to learn. The staff really care about the children and take the time to get to know them and to bond with them right from the baby room up to the preschool room. Each Key Worker that we've had has been wonderful and really supported the boys in their different stages of development. The children do all sorts of fun activities, messy play and reading which keep the children engaged all day and they love to tell me about it when they come home. Mini Athletics and Spanish are a big hit! We're going to be so sad to leave Ladybird!
Our 9-month-old son thrived at Ladybird Anerley, he went in smiling each day and came home happy. The team are excellent, especially two staff members who were his key people. The level of care and attention were excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this nursery.
I would really recommend Ladybird Nursery Anerley to anyone. My son moved to this nursery when he was 2, and he was instantly so much happier. All the staff genuinely care about the children, and the nursery has a real warmth to it. I can't comment too much on the younger spaces as my son didn't use those rooms. But the preschool rooms are fantastic. There's lots to play with, lots of group activities and lots of work that goes into helping them voice their emotions and prepare for school. My son has just started school now and it's been really obvious how much and how well they prepared him for the transition. He was very sad to leave Ladybird!
Sending our daughter to Ladybird was one of the best things we decided to do. She joined at 11 months - and like most parents in those early days, I felt really nervous about whether she would get along okay with it. The friendly nursery teachers straight away put our minds at rest and within two weeks, our daughter could barely contain her excitement as soon as we walked into the front porch! The levels of detail and care are another level to what we would expect, with daily communication, regular updates on the app, and fast responses should we have any questions. At 4pm we get 30+ photos of all the things she has been up to in the day, plenty of time outdoors as well as indoors getting creative, messy, and having lots of fun with her new friends! My heart melts at how much she adores her key workers and watching the strong and genuine bonds she is making there make me very happy. I feel very lucky to know that we will have many more wonderful and fun years here.
My daughter, now about to begin school, started at Ladybird Anerley at 12 months. She has loved her time at nursery and has really benefited from the care, learning and encouragement that the Ladybird staff provide. I've always been impressed by the nursery's communication and have been very pleasantly surprised by how accommodating they've been to her dietary requirements. The staff in each class are superb: kind, caring and friendly and it feels like they are all personally invested in your child's development and wellbeing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ladybird to anyone.
Both of my children attended Ladybird Nursery from 11 months old and they had a fantastic time. The staff are really attentive and take time to get to know your child. The activities are imaginative and varied with lots of fun facilities, toys and books. The food is great and encouraged my children to try new things. We would thoroughly recommend Ladybird. We will miss everyone there but my children have both been well prepared for the next step to primary school.
Ladybird Anerley Team are absolutely amazing. From the chef, to the nursery teachers, to the managers everyone is kind, friendly and warm. It is a lovely size and has a real family vibe. Our son was there from 12 months, nearly 4 years old. The only reason for leaving was us relocating out of London. Gutted to leave behind such an incredible team but I am sure another little one will benefit from the space. We really enjoyed the daily updates via an app as it made us feel part of his adventure there. The little day trips out to buy seeds at the local garden store or up to the park were highlights. I appreciated the ease of information in and out, a very organised team. The parent/teacher meetings were helpful in tracking development, and the team are so invested in each child and supporting their individual requirements. The manager has been there in a management capacity since we started and has made everything very easy for us. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
My child has attended Ladybird since he was a year old and has always been very happy in all of the rooms he's gone through. He absolutely loves all of his teachers, and we feel that the teachers genuinely care and love all of the kids. We will really miss everyone at Ladybird now that our son is going to school. I couldn't recommend this nursery more. Thank you, Ladybird!
Our son has been at Ladybird Nursery - Anerley since he was 12 months. The staff have been amazing throughout, the thought and attention to detail make his day varied and interesting with age-appropriate learning. The food is fantastic with little repetition and the encouragement to eat new things is regular. As he has progressed through the classes, his confidence and abilities have grown considerably. The staff have always been attentive, with knowledgeable advice and always enthusiastic to greet the children at the door. It is a great space with fantastic facilities inside and out, which are well-maintained and safe.
My two sons have attended Ladybird Anerley (1st from age 12 months to 4.5 years and 2nd from 8 months to 23 months). We are only leaving the nursery as we are moving out of London, and are very sad to be saying goodbye to Ladybird. Both my sons have always been happy and thrived there. There is a lovely warm vibe and all the staff are so kind and friendly. Each room has its main carers so they really get to know your child well but it also feels like all the staff know all the children so any staff room changes are not a problem. They have a good system of updating you on your child's day (via an app) and are also always happy to answer questions over the phone etc. With my oldest now just starting school I can attribute a lot of his readiness for school to the preschool class at Ladybird - while starting to teach the basics of phonics etc they also gently give your child more independence so it's not a big shock when they move on to school.
My son has been at the nursery since he was 1 year old and could not be happier. Lots of messy play and group activities, which he loves. He has also learnt many new habits and skills from attending here, which has resulted in him being incredibly sociable and good at playing with others. His communication has flourished while being there also. I can't thank you enough for creating a safe and fun space for my son to attend.

When the pandemic hit and despite sometimes uncertain government guidance for primary care settings, Ladybird Nursery - Anerley were brilliant. Communication was clear and honest as ever, they organised Zoom meetings to keep the children in touch during the initial lockdown, introduced sensible and clearly defined Covid-19 counter-measures to get the nursery soon running again and then consistently keep it open thereafter. We're very grateful to all the wonderful staff at Ladybird Nursery - Anerley. Thank you so much!
We were very sad to leave this nursery. The boys have loved every minute, they have been treated with kindness and they have developed so well because of that.
