WHAT WE ARE LEARNING - WEEK COMMENCING 9TH FEBRUARY 2026

Clever Cats and Clever Kittens Next week the Clever Cats and Clever Kittens will be looking at “I Love You” Day. Next week we will be using our pincer grip to organise pink, white and red pom-poms onto the correct hearts. In the craft we will be making I Love You cards. This week we will also be doing some baking making heart shaped cookies and decorating them. Our outdoor activity this week will be making love potions using tubs, coloured water, flower petals and what ever other materials the children can search for and would like to use. Our story of the week is “Our Class Is A Family” and our song of the week is “I Love You, You Love Me”.

Ladybirds Next week the Ladybirds will be looking at ‘I Love You Day’, they will be able to explore themed activities like pink bubble foam in the tuff tray to get all messy and then explore in the water tray making our own love potions, using natural materials to mix in! In the craft area we will be making some love cards to send home to our loved ones while using bubble wrap to make unique prints and using the red play-dough and heart shaped cutters to explore with different shapes and talk about the hearts! 

Butterflies Next week in the Baby Room, our little explorers will celebrate “I Love You Day”! Through gentle, sensory-rich experiences, our practitioners will focus on bonding and nurturing connections with each baby, sharing smiles, cuddles and warm greetings throughout the day. The Butterflies will enjoy sensory exploration with soft fabrics, cuddly toys and colourful scarves, alongside messy play with squishy gloop and pink heart sprinkles, discovering new textures, sights and sounds. We’ll also enjoy music, movement and short story times, introducing early language and encouraging joyful interactions. Every activity is designed to celebrate love, curiosity and the “I Love You TicTots” attitude, helping babies feel safe, happy and supported as they explore the world around them. We can’t wait to share hugs, smiles and lots of heart-filled moments with your little ones!
