WHAT WE ARE LEARNING - WEEK COMMENCING 12TH JANUARY 2026

Next week we will be -

Clever Cats Next week in the Clever Cats we are going to be setting ourselves some goals! We are going to be looking at New Year’s Resolutions. The Clever Cats will also be using chalk outside and practicing our letters! Next week our book of the week is “Ernie’s Birthday” and our song of the week is “5 Little Snowflakes”.

Clever Kittens Next week in the Clever Kittens we will be looking at differences, for example hair colour. The Clever Kittens will be looking at themselves in mirrors and their friends! The Clever Kittens will also be making calendars for the new year! The book of the week is “Happy New Year” and our song of the week is “Pat A Cake”.

Ladybirds Next week the Ladybirds will be looking at New Year’s Resolutions, we will be exploring a bright coloured tuff tray filled with coloured flour. The Ladybirds will be talking about some resolutions and new skills we will be learning this year! They will also be working on their pouring and scooping skills in the water tray and making their own fireworks using glue, salt and different coloured paint! We will then be exploring with the playdough and doing the Dough Dance to develop our fine motor skills.

Butterflies Next week in the Baby Room we are helping our new starters to settle and feel safe by focusing on the people who care for them. Babies are getting to know their key person through cuddles, songs, photos and gentle sensory play. These calm, familiar activities help babies feel comforted, build trust and start to recognise the adults and friends around them. We are supporting each baby at their own pace to feel happy, secure and confident in the nursery environment.
