The Old Station Nursery is proud to announce that it has raised £11,971 for Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity during the first year of its official charity partnership, strengthening connections across the group and its local communities.
Throughout the year, teams across The Old Station Nursery came together to support Rainbow Trust, following the launch of the group’s volunteering policy and charity partnership in June. While The Old Station Nursery has always supported charitable causes, this year marked the first time the entire organisation united behind a single charity partner - creating a shared focus and a collective sense of purpose.
Fundraising activities took place across several key months, including July, October and December, with nurseries hosting a wide range of creative and community-driven events. From themed activity days, bake sales and sponsored challenges to seasonal celebrations and team events, children, families, staff and local communities all played a role in reaching this impressive total.
Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity supports families with a seriously ill child by providing them with an expert Family Support Worker, offering vital practical and emotional support for as long as it is needed.
Commenting on the achievement, Jenny Evans, Partnership Manager at Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, said:
“£11,971 is a fantastic amount and the teams are so close to reaching the £12,000 mark. Raising £12,000 would cover the average cost of supporting six families with a seriously ill child for an entire year. With no central government funding, Rainbow Trust Children's Charity relies on the support from organisations like The Old Station Nursery, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone at The Old Station Nursery – the children, families, teams and local communities - who have helped raise this money and make such a meaningful difference.”
Adelle Taylor, CEO of The Old Station Nursery, added:
“This year has shown the true power of coming together with a shared purpose. While we’ve always believed in giving back, having a charity partner has created a deeper sense of connection across our nurseries, our teams and the communities we serve. I’m incredibly proud of everyone involved - from our children and families to our staff - who have contributed their time, creativity and generosity to support Rainbow Trust and the families they help.”
The partnership reflects The Old Station Nursery’s wider ethos of nurturing not only children and staff, but also strong, compassionate communities. As the group looks ahead, it remains committed to building on this first year of partnership and continuing to make a positive difference beyond nursery walls.
