Tops Day Nurseries Bearwood, lit up the start of the festive season with a magical Christmas light switch on event for children, families and the local community at its Magna Road nursery in Bournemouth, led by AFC Bournemouth legends Steve Fletcher and Jimmy Glass, who performed the official countdown and switched on the lights.

The evening featured a festive playdough station, a Christmas light trail, soft play and a special visit from Father Christmas, creating a fun and engaging environment for children of all ages. Families had the chance to explore the nursery’s indoor and outdoor spaces, all whilst enjoying seasonal activities. The appearance of Steve Fletcher and Jimmy Glass made the event particularly memorable, with children and parents thrilled to see the football legends help launch the festive season at the nursery. Their support added to the strong sense of community spirit that Tops Bearwood aims to foster with local families.

Jimmy Glass, former AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper best known for his dramatic 1999 goal that kept Carlisle United in the Football League. said: “It was a pleasure to be invited to switch on the Christmas lights this year along with Steve. It was great to see so many people there to support the event, even in the wet weather. Tops has a fantastic reputation within the childcare industry and after meeting all the dedicated staff it is easy to see why”.
