The children will also be participating in folklore dancing using ribbons and listening to Scottish music! The Clever Cats will also be looking at maps and finding Scotland on the map! Our song of the week is ‘Ally Bally’ and our book of the week is 'Ruby’s Worry’.

Clever Kittens Next week the Clever Kittens will be looking at St Andrew’s Day for this we will be using our funky fingers making tartan weaving. We will also be looking at the maths terms bigger and smaller. For our craft we will be gluing and sticking tissue paper to make thistles. We will also be working on speech with the Mr Tongue activity. Our book of the week is ‘George And The Dragon’. Our song of the week is signing ‘Miss Polly’.

Ladybirds Next week the Ladybirds will be looking at St Andrew’s Day! We will be exploring with blue and white coloured blocks in the construction area to make our own tall towers and be able to knock them down. The children will then be able to explore in the sand and be able to use the knights and castle to make their own area and explore how it works. We will also be using blue and white paint to make our own flags in the craft area and use some resources the children choose to make it unique! We will be having blue playdough to develop our fine motor skills and use it to poke, roll and splat.

Butterflies Next week the Butterflies will be celebrating St Andrew’s Day through a selection of simple, sensory experiences. They will explore blue and white sensory baskets, feeling soft ribbons, fabrics and textured objects inspired by the colours of the Scottish flag. The children will also enjoy gentle water play with floating “Nessie” toys, discovering how water splashes and moves. We will introduce Scottish music, giving babies the opportunity to wiggle, bounce and watch the scarves dance to the rhythm. Using taste-safe blue and white paint, the babies will create early marks through stamping and hand exploration, supporting their sensory, physical and early communication development.
