Children and colleagues from Windmill Hill Day Nursery were delighted to welcome in autumn with a special ‘Cosy Day’ at the setting, all whilst raising vital funds for charity. Dressed in their pyjamas, pre-schoolers and practitioners from the setting on Whitehill Way embraced the season with a range of activities including autumn-themed crafts like leaf rubbing, themed storytelling sessions and den building, as well as enjoying hot chocolates. As part of the experience, the dedicated team treated nursery parents to a breakfast spread including cinnamon swirls, blueberry muffins and fresh fruit as a token of appreciation for their ongoing support. Meanwhile, Nursery Charity Representative; Imogen Batty, helped boost fundraising with a cake sale and games in aid of their chosen charity, YoungMinds. Windmill Hill Day Nursery Manager, Kayleigh Blaylock explained; “Our Cosy Day was a lovely way to bring our nursery community together and celebrate the start of a new season. The children had a wonderful time taking part in all the activities and we loved involving our families too. We are so grateful for their generosity in supporting the causes we support, and are especially proud to be raising funds for Young Minds.” The money raised will ensure vital support and awareness is given to the YoungMinds ‘Never Alone’ campaign, which utilises digital support to ensure every young person can access help quickly and easily to improve their situation. This is in addition to providing people with the resources and skills to assist loved ones facing a mental health emergency. Windmill Hill have adopted YoungMinds for a year-long fundraising and donation drive.
