WHAT WE ARE LEARNING - WEEK COMMENCING 15TH SEPTEMBER 2025

Next week we will be -

Clever Cats Next week, we will be starting to explore the theme of Autumn. We will be going out on our daily miles, exploring what is around us, using our senses to describe what is around us. We will also talk about what animals we may see outside. On our tuff tray outside, we will be working together to create an autumnal picture, using chalk and things such as leaves and sticks. We will have an autumnal playdough, using colours and smells related to the season. We will be making leaf and sticks to create our own little people. We will be making patterns with natural objects to try and make it repeating. We will also explore colours, and see if we can match up leave that are the same. Clever Kittens and Ladybirds Next week the Ladybirds and Clever Kittens are focusing on Gratitude Week. Practitioners are going to be focusing on modelling the use of ‘Thank you’ to express their gratitude towards children’s engagement throughout the day eg. “Thank you for putting those blocks away”. The children are also going to be learning how to say ‘Thank you’ in the home languages of our English as Additional Language children. The children are going to be creating a Gratitude Tree to display all that they are grateful for eg. ‘Mummy’, ‘Toys’, ‘Friends’. We are also going to be introducing a very special ‘I Love You’ song for the children to share a special gratitude moment with their friends and teachers.    Butterflies Next week the Baby Unit will be exploring Autumn and Harvest Festival. We will be using our hands and feet to explore some crunchy Autumn leaves and well as using some Harvest vegetables to do some vegetable printing using autumnal coloured paint. Finally we will be explore the book ‘That’s Not My Hedgehog’ with a range of spiky resource along with it.
