New appointments and promotions at Clever Clogs Belmont

Clever Clogs Day Nursery in Belmont, County Durham, has announced several new appointments and promotions.

The changes in personnel come on the back of the nursery retaining its ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating following a recent inspection.

Two new people have joined the team.

Lorraine Flaherty has joined as Office Manager and will be updating her childcare qualification which she completed 30 years ago whilst carrying out her role.

Lorraine brings a wealth of experience with her, having worked in business administration and finance in the private sector for over 15 years.

And William Turnbull, 19, has started as nursery educator apprentice.

Prior to joining Clever Clogs Belmont, he worked for Little Kickers, the football development programme.

There have also been internal promotions, including Donna Green to Nursery Manager.

Donna has worked at the nursery for nine years and is relishing the challenge of being manager.

She said: “I am really enjoying the new role. I have been here for so long and know all the parents and children, so that has helped with my transition into the manager’s role.

“I feel I am ready now.

“My number one goal now is to ensure we keep our Outstanding rating.”

Elsewhere Nicole Cannon is stepping up to be the senior in the Clever Thinkers room.

Previously she worked as a practitioner and is now looking forward to working at the more senior level.

Operations Director Sharon Lewis said: “I am delighted that after nine years with us, Donna is moving up into the manager’s role. She’s an absolute gem, loved by the children, parents and staff alike, and is the right person to help us grow and keep our Ofsted Outstanding rating, which we’re so very proud of.

“I am also pleased to welcome Lorraine and William to the Clever Clogs family. They’ve fitted straight in and are proving to be real assets to our team.”
