Clever Cats

This week in preschool we will be looking at harvest. The Clever cats will be looking at caring and sharing, and why it is important to share with others. We will also be looking at the meaning of harvest and exploring what foods get harvested in the Autumn time. The Clever Cats will be continuing with phonics and moving on to the letter “P”. Our book of the week is “Chickens can’t see in the dark” and our song of the week is I’m a little pumpkin. Clever Kittens

This week the Clever Kittens are celebrating Harvest! We are going to be looking at why Harvest is important, in the creative area we will be creating a pumpkin patch using fruits and vegetables as our paint stamps. As well as this the Clever Kittens will be continuing to work on their golden rules in the preschool room.  Our song of the week is: Mr. Pumpkin Book of the week:  The Tiger Who Came To Tea 

Ladybirds

Next week the Ladybirds are going to learn about Harvest. The children will be exploring different fruits and vegetables and expressing their likes and dislikes.  We are also going to create our Harvest pictures by using apples and paint. This simple activity will help the children to build their fine motor skills, learn different colours, explore colour mixing, shapes and pattern.  Our song of the week: Old McDonald Had a Farm… Our story of the week: Autumn  Our number of the week: 1 Our colour of the week: Red Our feeling of the week: Happiness 

Butterflies

Next week, we will be continuing our theme of exploring our physical skills and we will also start exploring autumn. We will have an autumnal tuff tray, where the children can reach out to explore the items or maybe try and move their feet. We will be going on autumn walks with our peers to see what we can find such as sticks and leaves. We will also having a go at creating pictures using different types of movement with our hands and feet. Why not go on an autumn walk with your children at home and explore the area around you. Don’t forget to share the pictures!
