We are proud to announce that Kids Planet has been recognised as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces in Education & Training 2024 by Great Place To Work UK!

This prestigious accolade is based on employee feedback from our engagement survey, which measures how our team members feel about the culture we've built together. This feedback highlights why Kids Planet is considered one of the best places to work in the education and training sector.

Since the opening of our first nursery by founder and CEO Clare Roberts in 2008, our company has grown to over 200 nurseries, but our core values remain the same. At Kids Planet, the values of Community, A safe place, Reflective, and Excellence (CARE) shape our actions, decision-making, and workplace environment. These guiding principles are central to how we operate and the culture we foster through regular activities and engagement across all our locations.

As the Early Years sector faces ongoing recruitment and retention challenges, Kids Planet has successfully implemented initiatives to support, motivate, and care for our employees. This proactive approach enables us to not only retain talent but also attract early-career professionals. Through our Training Academy and extensive training programmes, we offer qualifications and career progression opportunities, helping individuals build long-term careers with us.

Over the past year alone, more than 200 of our employees have achieved qualifications through our Training Academy, from Level 2 certifications to Masters Degrees. Additionally, 465 of our team members received promotions, and we've improved employee retention rates by 10%.

Nicky Richiusa, People Director at Kids Planet, shared:

"Being recognised as one of the Best Workplaces in Education & Training, alongside our Great Place to Work certification, is a true reflection of the emphasis we place on our people at Kids Planet. Working in the Early Years sector requires our colleagues to be at their best every day, as they need to remain focused, energetic, and motivated when working with young children. Creating a positive and supportive workplace has always been a key priority for us, and this aligns with our mission of delivering high-quality early years education and care."

Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place To Work UK, commented:

"We know that creating a positive workplace culture leads to lower turnover rates and offers real business benefits. The organisations listed among the UK’s Best Workplaces in Education & Training are demonstrating that this is not only achievable, but it’s also happening right now. When employees see opportunities for development and growth, they are more engaged and motivated, which ultimately improves retention and productivity. Congratulations to Kids Planet for earning a well-deserved place on this list."

The Best Workplaces in Education & Training™ list is compiled based on anonymous feedback from employees about their workplace experiences.

Great Place To Work® UK conducted their Trust Index© employee survey to gather insights from UK-based consulting and professional services employees. The survey evaluated various aspects of workplace culture, including work-life balance, job satisfaction, psychological safety, and financial security. The results also assessed how consistently these companies provide a positive experience for employees across departments and levels of seniority.

According to the sector survey results:

91% of employees at the UK’s Best Workplaces for Education & Training reported that they are “offered training and development to advance themselves professionally,” compared to a UK average of just 59% across the sector.
