Dicky Birds Day Nursery Pepys Road delighted to be Ofsted Outstanding

We are proud to announce that our Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool, Raynes Park, Pepys Road been awarded Outstanding in their most recent Ofsted inspection.

To have this setting formally recognised as Outstanding by Ofsted is a testament to the exceptional childcare and education the Pepys Road team work hard to deliver every day.

On 14th June 2024, the nursery achieved Outstanding across all areas of inspection, including Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, and Leadership & Management.

Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool, Raynes Park, Pepys Road is part of leading nursery group Grandir UK. Children enjoy exploring the local community of popular Southwest London suburb Raynes Park and developing great new skills through weekly forest school sessions and sports sessions.

The Ofsted report highlights the high-quality interactions the Pepys Road team share with the children, describing how they know them “incredibly well” and have formed “lovely relationships.”

Additionally, the team “have an excellent understanding of how children learn and plan activities to extend and support them. They follow the children's lead and interest and skilfully build on what children know and can do.”

Noted in the Ofsted report are the ”excellent relationships” that the Pepys Road team have with parents and how they go “the extra mile to support them.” For example, providing takeaway breakfast options, creative ideas for home activities and regularly inviting parents into the nursery for events. The efforts of the Nursery Manager were also praised in the Ofsted report. “The nursery manager values her staff team and well-being is very important to them. Staff attend various supervisions and have access to various schemes to support them. Staff receive regular training that has a positive impact on their practice.”
