Football fever at Lime Grove Day Nursery

Young sporting enthusiasts from Lime Grove Day Nursery in Hemel Hempstead were delighted to kick off the UEFA Euro 2024 celebrations with a series of themed activities.

Representing their home countries and favourite teams, children and colleagues from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Park Road dressed in their football kits for the occasion and took part in a series of ball games to showcase their talents and develop gross motor skills, before each being awarded a medal for their teamwork and efforts.

As part of the festivities, children took part in activities to learn more about their home countries and ones taking part in the competition, using an array of resources including globes, books and the interactive board to build on geographical knowledge.

Lime Grove Quality Manager, Robyn Shuck explained;

“Football fever has swept the nursery and the children have had a brilliant time following the tournament and immersing themselves in activities. We have families from all around the world at Lime Grove which is amazing, so this has been a lovely opportunity for us to come together and celebrate this special event and the rich diversity within our community.”
