Festivities were well underway at River View Day Nursery in Hertford as colleagues and children marked International Women’s Day with a series of celebrations.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on North Road, proud Managers honoured the talented females within the Early Years team with gifts of flowers, complete with inspiring quotes attached, as well as a spread of sweet treats to enjoy during breaks as a ‘thank you’ for their outstanding contributions to nursery life and dedication to the children in their care.
Meanwhile, pre-schoolers were delighted to learn about pioneering female figures including Marie Curie, Rosa Parks and Harriet Tubman using the ‘Little People, Big Dreams’ book series, as well as discussing the important female role models in their own lives.
River View Deputy Manager, Jolanta Zabulionyte explained;
“We had a fantastic time celebrating the incredible women in our workforce and thanking them for constantly going above and beyond for both the children and each other. We've also been teaching our pre-schoolers about the importance of gender equality; from reading books about inspiring women to crafting special cards for the figures who make a difference in their lives, we've had a lovely day spreading love and appreciation all around.”
International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8th March 2024.
