Ready to Take the Next Step in Your Early Years Career?

At Ashbourne Day Nurseries, we're looking for a passionate and ambitious Deputy Nursery Manager to join our friendly Wellingborough team.

Whether you're an experienced Room Leader, Third in Charge or existing Deputy Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your leadership skills and take the next step in your career.

And the best part? You'll work your 40 hours across four days, giving you a weekday off every week!

A Little About Us

Since 2008, Ashbourne Day Nurseries has been creating welcoming, nurturing environments where children can learn, explore and thrive.

Our Wellingborough nursery is a charming converted church building with a small, close-knit team of approximately nine colleagues. We pride ourselves on our supportive culture, strong relationships with families and commitment to providing exceptional childcare.

With busy baby and toddler rooms and opportunities to grow our preschool provision, it's an exciting time to join us.

We're also passionate about developing our people. In fact, our current Nursery Manager originally joined as a Deputy and progressed into management within just a few months!

What You'll Be Doing

Working closely with our Nursery Manager, you'll enjoy a varied role combining hands-on childcare with leadership and operational responsibilities.

You'll be:

  • Supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery and leading in the Manager's absence.

  • Inspiring, mentoring and supporting our nursery team.

  • Delivering exceptional childcare and education in line with the EYFS.

  • Championing safeguarding, children's wellbeing and high-quality practice.

  • Supporting staffing, rotas, funding, occupancy and nursery operations.

  • Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

  • Helping drive continuous improvement and the nursery's ongoing success.

What We're Looking For

We're not necessarily looking for someone who's already been a Deputy Manager. We're looking for someone with the passion, confidence and potential to become a fantastic leader.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent.

  • Experience as a Room Leader, Third in Charge or Deputy Manager.

  • Good knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.

  • A positive, proactive and hands-on leadership style.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • An interest in developing your commercial and operational knowledge.

  • A genuine passion for Early Years and supporting others to succeed.

What We Can Offer You

  • £29,000 annual salary

  • 4-day working week with a weekday off.

  • Birthday off every year.

  • Employee of the Month recognition.

  • Regular team events and staff outings.

  • Health and wellbeing benefits.

  • Refer a Friend bonus scheme.

  • Staff discounts.

  • Ongoing training, mentoring and professional development.

  • Genuine career progression opportunities within our growing nursery group.

Why Join Ashbourne?

This is a brilliant opportunity to gain experience across all aspects of nursery management while being supported by an experienced Manager and a welcoming team.

Whether you're taking your first step into management or looking for a new challenge, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference and build your future with Ashbourne.
