Manager, Fairfield Playbox Preschool (term-time)

We are seeking a dynamic Manager to lead and oversee operations at Fairfield Playbox Preschool, ideally from the start of the spring term in January 2027. The presschool operates term-times 5 days a week for 38 weeks in the year. This vital role involves fostering a nurturing environment where young children can learn, grow, and thrive. As the leader of the preschool, you will ensure that daily activities run smoothly, staff are motivated and supported, and families receive exceptional care and communication. Your energetic leadership will help create a vibrant, safe, and engaging space for early childhood development.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage the provision of a quality environment
• Recruit, manage and coach and experienced staff team
• Manage the finances
• Communications internal and external
• Work with a management committee
• Work with other agencies
• Maintain the Ofsted registration

Core Working Hours:

• Term-time (38 weeks per year): 37.5 hours per week - 8am to 4pm from Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) during which time half an hour may be taken for lunch, which is unpaid.
• During Playbox Holidays: 2 hours per week for administrative work, such as monthly payroll operation and responding to enquiries.

• Additional Working Hours for attendance at meetings and training outside Core Hours also paid.

• £18.48 per hour, reviewed annually, meaning £2,393.25 per month and £28,772.54 per annum for Core Hours
