Nursery Practitioner Room Leader

We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner / Room Leader to join our growing team at Mindful Nurseries in Addiscombe, Croydon.

Our Addiscombe nursery has been open for around two years and has developed into a busy, friendly setting with a modern, cool and slightly funky environment. The team is continuing to grow, so this is a great opportunity to join us at an exciting stage and become an important part of the nursery as it develops.

As a Room Leader, you will lead the day-to-day running of your room while remaining very hands-on with the children. You will support and guide the practitioners within your room, help maintain high standards of care and education and make sure children are safe, happy and supported in their learning and development.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the day-to-day running of your room
• Supporting, guiding and working alongside other nursery practitioners
• Providing high-quality care and education
• Planning and supporting engaging activities and learning through play
• Observing and supporting children’s development
• Building strong relationships with parents and carers
• Supporting children with individual or additional needs
• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, hygiene and safety
• Working in line with the EYFS and nursery policies and procedures
• Helping create a positive, welcoming and inspiring environment
• Supporting the wider nursery team wherever needed

We are looking for someone who is warm, confident, organised and genuinely enjoys working with young children. You should be comfortable taking the lead within your room, supporting colleagues and communicating confidently with parents and carers.

Previous Room Leader experience would be an advantage, although we would also consider an experienced Nursery Practitioner who is ready to take the next step into leadership.

The nursery is in Addiscombe and is conveniently located close to East Croydon, with good transport links.
