Deputy Manager

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Nursery Deputy Manager Practitioner to join our new Mindful Nurseries setting in Walton-on-Thames.

This is a great opportunity to join a newer nursery at an exciting stage of its development and become an important part of a growing team. Working alongside the Nursery Manager, you will help lead the day-to-day running of the nursery, support and develop the team and help us continue building a high-quality, welcoming and successful setting.

This is very much a hands-on role. You will work directly with children as well as supporting staff, safeguarding, planning, compliance and the EYFS. As the nursery continues to grow, you will also have the opportunity to help shape routines, standards, the environment and the culture of the setting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery
• Leading and supporting staff across the setting
• Working directly with children and remaining actively involved in nursery practice
• Supporting high-quality teaching, learning and care
• Helping maintain strong safeguarding and welfare standards
• Supporting planning, observations and children’s development
• Building positive relationships with parents and carers
• Helping maintain compliance with the EYFS, nursery policies and procedures
• Supporting staff development, organisation and good communication
• Taking responsibility for the nursery when required in the Manager’s absence
• Helping us continue to develop and grow the nursery

The role would suit an experienced Nursery Practitioner, Room Leader, Third in Charge or existing Deputy Manager who is ready for their next challenge and wants to play a genuine part in developing a newer nursery.

We are looking for someone who is confident, organised, approachable and able to take responsibility when needed. You should be a positive leader who can support colleagues while still being happy to get stuck in with the everyday running of the nursery.
