Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day operation of our thriving nursery. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will help lead a dedicated team and ensure children receive the highest standards of care, learning, and safeguarding.

We are looking for someone with qualifications and skills as below:

Essential
•   Relevant Early Years qualification at Level 3 or above.
•   Significant experience working within an early years setting.
•   Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements.
•   Experience supporting children's learning, development, and assessment.
•   Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•   Ability to lead, motivate, and support staff effectively.
•   Competent in managing administrative responsibilities, including staff rotas and child records.

Desirable
•   Experience in a supervisory role within an early years setting.
•   Paediatric First Aid qualification.
•   Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training or willingness to undertake training.
•   Experience of supporting inspections and quality improvement processes.

Terms and Conditions

Salary: Competitive dependent on experience

Pension:   After three months’ service you may be automatically enrolled into the Eastbourne College  WorkSave Pension Scheme (details are available from the HR Department), depending on your level of earnings, however you may also choose to opt into the pension scheme. The College will contribute 5% of your gross salary and you will be expected to contribute 3%. You may choose to opt out of the pension scheme.
