Full Time Nursery Assistant - to Start January 2027

Are you a warm, caring and enthusiastic qualified Nursery Assistant with a passion for giving babies and young children the very best start?

We are looking for a nurturing and reliable practitioner to join our Under 2s Baby Room, working as part of a supportive team to provide a safe, stimulating and loving environment where our youngest children can thrive.

About the role

As a Nursery Assistant within our Baby Room, you will:

• Provide consistently high-quality care for babies and children under 2.
• Build warm, secure and responsive relationships with children, helping them to feel safe, settled and valued.
• Support children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Plan and provide engaging, age-appropriate play and sensory experiences based on children’s individual interests and developmental needs.
• Understand the importance of attachment, communication, physical development and emotional wellbeing during the first two years of life.
• Carry out children’s personal care routines sensitively, including feeding, bottle preparation, changing and supporting sleep routines.
• Observe children’s development and contribute to observations, assessments and next steps.
• Develop positive partnerships with parents and carers, providing regular and reassuring communication about their child’s day and development.
• Follow all nursery policies relating to safeguarding, health and safety, hygiene and confidentiality.
• Work closely with the Baby Room staff and wider nursery team to maintain a welcoming, organised and stimulating Baby Room.

What we’re looking for

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification (Level 3 preferred).
• Have a good working knowledge and understanding of the EYFS.
• Ideally have previous experience working with babies and children under 2.
• Have an understanding of children’s developmental milestones and the importance of responsive, individualised care.
• Be caring, patient, dependable and genuinely passionate about working with babies.
• Be confident communicating with parents, carers and colleagues.
• Understand the importance of safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
• Be enthusiastic about creating meaningful learning opportunities through everyday play, routines and interactions.
• Be able to work effectively as part of a close-knit team.
