Job Summary
At Smarty Pants Day Nursery, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and caring Early Years Educator who genuinely enjoys working with children and wants to make a difference to their early years.
We believe children learn best when they feel happy, secure and excited to explore. That means creating an environment filled with conversation, creativity, play, curiosity and plenty of opportunities to get involved, whether that’s singing, messy play, storytelling, building, exploring outdoors or following an idea that has completely captured a child’s imagination.
We also know that great early years practice comes from great practitioners. Every member of our team brings something different, and we want you to feel confident bringing your own personality, ideas and strengths to the nursery.
Smarty Pants is a diverse and welcoming setting with a team that cares about what we do and the difference we make. We want our practitioners to enjoy coming to work, feel valued as part of the team and have the support they need to do their job well.
You could be a great fit for our team if you:
-
Genuinely enjoy working with children and have a passion for supporting their learning and development
-
Hold a relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
-
Are warm, approachable and able to build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
-
Bring energy, creativity and enthusiasm into the nursery
-
Are proactive, dependable and willing to get involved
-
Understand that excellent childcare is about much more than completing routines - you notice what children are interested in and know how to turn those moments into opportunities for learning
-
Take safeguarding seriously and understand your responsibility for keeping children safe
-
Enjoy being part of a team and are happy to contribute your own ideas
What will you be doing?
No two days in Early Years are exactly the same, but your role will include:
-
Providing high-quality care and learning experiences in line with the EYFS
-
Planning and creating engaging experiences based on children's interests, development and next steps
-
Supporting children to become confident, independent and curious learners
-
Building strong, professional relationships with children and their families
-
Working closely with colleagues to create a happy, stimulating and well-organised environment
-
Observing and supporting children's development and contributing to their learning journey
-
Following our safeguarding, health and safety and nursery procedures at all times
-
Being an active member of the nursery team and helping us continually improve what we offer our children
About Smarty Pants Day Nursery
We are passionate about providing children with an excellent start in life, but we also believe the people providing that care matter. We want to create a workplace where practitioners feel respected, supported and able to develop.
We're proud of the team and environment we've built, and we're looking for someone who wants to contribute to it rather than simply turn up for a shift.
