Are you an experienced Early Years professional looking for your next challenge?
At Bright Beginnings Hertfordshire, we're a small, independent nursery where every member of our team is valued. We believe children thrive when they are cared for by happy, consistent staff who genuinely love what they do. As we're not part of a large nursery chain, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference every day and play an important role in shaping our nursery.
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and organised Baby Room Leader to lead our Under 2's room, creating a nurturing environment where our youngest children can flourish.
The Role
As Baby Room Leader, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the baby room, ensuring every child receives the highest standard of care whilst supporting your team to deliver outstanding early years practice.
You will be passionate about providing a calm, stimulating environment where babies can develop through play, exploration and secure relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the baby room team on a daily basis.
- Create a warm, safe and engaging environment for children aged 6 months to 2 years.
- Plan and deliver exciting activities in line with the EYFS.
- Complete observations, assessments and learning journeys to support each child's development.
- Act as a Key Person, building strong relationships with children and their families.
- Monitor the quality of practice within the room and support colleagues to maintain high standards.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies are followed at all times.
- Maintain excellent standards of hygiene, cleanliness and organisation throughout the room.
- Work closely with the Nursery Manager and wider team to continually improve the nursery.
- Support settling-in sessions, parent meetings and daily handovers.
- Help mentor and support less experienced members of staff.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- Has previous experience working within a baby room.
- Has experience leading or supervising a team (preferred but not essential).
- Has a sound knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
- Is organised, reliable and positive.
- Has excellent communication skills with children, parents and colleagues.
- Has a genuine passion for providing exceptional care for babies.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- A supportive management team who genuinely value every member of staff.
- A small, independent nursery where your ideas are welcomed.
- Discounted childcare for your own children.
- Ongoing training and professional development.
- Opportunities to progress within the nursery.
- Company pension.
- Staff appreciation events.
- A friendly, welcoming working environment where you can truly make a difference.
If you're passionate about giving babies the very best start in life and would like to become part of our growing Bright Beginnings family, we'd love to hear from you.
