We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and caring Deputy Nursery Manager to join our well-established nursery in Chester. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior early years professional ready to step into a leadership role and support the delivery of exceptional care and learning.
About the Role:
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery
Manager to ensure the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the
setting. You’ll be a role model for best practice, support the
development of the staff team, and help create a safe, nurturing, and
stimulating environment for children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Nursery Manager in the overall leadership and management of the nursery
- Ensure the nursery operates in line with EYFS, Ofsted, and safeguarding requirements
- Lead and inspire staff to deliver high-quality early years education
- Oversee planning, observations, and assessments to support individual learning journeys
- Step into the Manager’s role when required, maintaining consistency and high standards
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, carers, and external professionals
- Support with staff development, rotas, health & safety, and administrative tasks
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years (Level 5 preferred or willingness to work towards)
- 2 years experience in a senior nursery role such as Room Leader or Third in Charge
- Level 3 in Maths
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework, Ofsted expectations, and safeguarding procedures
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- A passion for early years education and a commitment to delivering outstanding childcare
