Nursery Practitioner

Job summary

Providing care for children from birth to 5 years. Assisting in many aspects of their daily lives, through social, emotional, educational and practical interaction, nurturing and guidance.

Helping to oversee, maintain and organise a clean, tidy, child-friendly environment, supervising activities, such as messy play, crafts, cooking, reading and outdoor/physical pursuits.

Other duties and responsibilities include:

• Feeding suitable meals, snacks and drink
• Changing nappies or helping with potty/toilet training
• Teaching general life skills, such as basic hygiene and manners
• Working with any health and social care professionals, where necessary, and undertaking any relevant admin/paperwork

Candidates are required to;

• Have a relevant childcare qualification at a level 3
• Submit to a DBS check
• Provide references, one being from their most recent position

It is also desirable that candidates have;

• In date Pediatric First Aid
• In date Food Hygiene
• Experience as a Key Person within a nursery setting
