Are you a current Room Leader or Deputy Nursery Manager of a small nursery who is looking for your next challenge, then this is the job for you. Little Farlington Nursery is seeking an inspirational and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to join our thriving Early Years team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role within a nurturing, forward-thinking nursery that believes in exploring “what is possible” for every child. Within the role you would be working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will help lead the day-to- day management, quality and compliance of the nursery. You will deputise fully in the Manager’s absence, providing strong operational, educational and safeguarding leadership.
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will:
- Support the strategic leadership and smooth daily running of the nursery
- Lead, motivate and inspire staff to maintain exceptional standards of care and education
- Promote a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture
- Ensure full compliance with EYFS, Ofsted and ISI requirements
- Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) for Early Years
- Oversee planning, observation and assessment systems to ensure high-quality learning outcomes
- Champion a stimulating, inclusive and well-resourced learning environment
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers
- Represent the nursery at school events and open mornings
You will be supported by an experienced leadership structure including a Nursery SENDCo, Curriculum Lead, Third in Charge and Learning & Development Lead.
Little Farlington is a 57 place day nursery, set in the
beautiful grounds of Farlington School in Horsham. Our ethos is all

innate curiosity and individuality in our youngest learners,

Farlington is a co-educational day and boarding school for pupils currently aged from 6 months to 18 years old, and is set in 33 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside. Job Type: Full Time/Permanent 40 hours per week, 51 weeks per

Skills / Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent in Early Years
- experience as a Room Leader or Deputy in a nursery setting
- Strong knowledge of EYFS statutory requirements
- Demonstrates excellent leadership

- Confident using basic technology (computers

- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check (at the school’s expense).
