About the Nursery
We are a warm, welcoming private day nursery committed to providing high-quality early education and care in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the effective leadership and management of the nursery. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will help ensure the setting consistently meets and exceeds Ofsted and EYFS requirements, while maintaining a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for all children.

You will take a key role in leading practice, supporting staff development, and promoting continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day management of the nursery

  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (or support the DSL) and ensure safeguarding policies are fully embedded

  • Ensure high standards of care, learning, and behaviour management are maintained throughout the setting

  • Support staff with planning, assessment, and observation in line with EYFS

  • Monitor practice to ensure compliance with statutory welfare requirements

  • Lead and support staff through supervision, appraisals, and coaching

  • Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external professionals

  • Maintain accurate records and support readiness for Ofsted inspections

  • Take full responsibility for the nursery in the Manager’s absence
