We’re searching for an enthusiastic Deputy Manager who thrives on being hands-on with children while stepping confidently into leadership. This role is for our Claygate branch, which is the fourth setting opened out of seven nurseries. It is a beautiful setting with an outdoor area and the role would suit a current deputy manager or an experienced room leader looking for their next challenge.

In this role, you’ll play a vital part in both the daily running of the nursery and its long-term success.

What you’ll assist in:

  • Supporting the nursery manager providing leadership to the nursery team while crafting a collaborative work environment
  • Managing staffing levels, recruitment, and professional development of the team
  • Implementing policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing by maintaining a nurturing, stimulating nursery environment
  • Fostering creativity, independence and love for learning among the children
  • Building warm, professional relationships with parents, keeping them informed and involved in their child’s journey
  • Participating in parent conferences, workshops, and events that enrich nursery life
  • Supporting the nursery manager in implementing growth and sustainability strategies

What do we require from you?

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of Level 3 in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Proven experience in a managerial role within a nursery or early childhood education setting
  • Knowledge of adherence to regulatory requirements for childcare facilities
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for early childhood development and a commitment to providing quality childcare
