Early Years Educator (Level 3) & SENCO

Term Time Only | Permanent | 4 Days Per Week
Sabden, Lancashire (Village Setting)
Salary: £13 per hour + £50 per month SENCO allowance

A small, high-quality Early Years setting in the heart of Sabden village is seeking a Level 3 Early Years Educator with SENCO responsibility to join their warm, nurturing and close-knit team.

This is a term-time-only role, ideal for an experienced practitioner who values a calm pace, strong relationships and genuinely child-led practice. The setting offers a true home-from-home environment where both children and staff are supported, cared for and valued.

Due to limited public transport links, a driving licence and access to a car are essential.

About the Role

  • 4 days per week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

  • Core hours 8:30am – 4:30pm (Friday finish at 4:30pm)

  • Flexibility to cover earlier shifts when required

  • Over-2s provision, predominantly supporting children aged 3+

  • SENCO responsibility with additional monthly allowance

  • Supporting inclusion, SEND planning and individual needs

  • Working closely with families and the wider team

About the Setting

  • 24 children on roll

  • 2 rooms

  • Team of 8 staff

  • Beautiful village location

  • On-site parking available

The team culture is described as friendly, welcoming and caring, with a strong emphasis on staff wellbeing. Practitioners are supported in the same way children are — with kindness, understanding and teamwork.

Strong parent partnerships and a child-led ethos sit at the heart of daily practice.

Ethos & Practice

The setting prides itself on:

  • A home-from-home environment

  • Child-led learning and play

  • Strong emotional wellbeing support

  • Inclusion and nurturing individual needs

  • Positive relationships with families

  • A calm, respectful and loving approach

This is a setting that truly understands the pressures of Early Years and works hard to create a sustainable, supportive environment for its team.

What They’re Looking For

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential)

  • SENCO qualification or willingness to undertake SENCO training

  • Experience supporting children with additional needs

  • A nurturing, calm and reflective approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

  • Ability to build trusting relationships with children and families

Training, CPD & Progression

  • Full access to Noodle Now training platform

  • Regular Lancashire County Council training

  • Opportunities for funded qualifications

  • Existing team members completing Level 3 and Level 5 apprenticeships

  • Supportive leadership that invests in staff development

Salary, Holidays & Benefits

  • £13 per hour

  • £50 per month SENCO allowance

  • 15 days holiday up to 1st September start date

  • 23 days holiday thereafter

  • 50% staff childcare discount

  • Pension scheme

  • On-site parking

Interview Process

  • One-stage informal interview

  • Opportunity to be yourself

  • Observation of interactions with children as part of the process

If you’re an experienced practitioner who values relationships, inclusion and a supportive working environment — and you’re looking for a term-time role where your wellbeing truly matters — this is a rare and rewarding opportunity.
