About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team and support the Nursery Manager in delivering exceptional childcare and early education. You will play a pivotal role in promoting the safety, welfare, and development of children while supporting and leading our dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safeguarding and Welfare: Ensure all children are safeguarded and their welfare is paramount, following nursery safeguarding procedures and ensuring all team members are trained and supported in doing the same.
- Leadership and Management: Work closely with the Senior Leadership team to lead and inspire the team, deputising in their absence. Support in planning schedules, setting objectives, and overseeing nursery operations.
- Quality Care and Learning: Provide a high standard of care and early learning opportunities, creating an enabling environment where children can play, learn, and develop.
- Staff Development: Assist with training, supervision, and appraisal processes. Support new staff inductions and ongoing professional development for team members.
- Parent and Community Liaison: Build strong relationships with parents, families, and external agencies, ensuring the needs of every child are met.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, maintaining a safe and clean environment for children and staff.
- Administrative Support: Assist with nursery administration, including registrations, child development records, and policy implementation.
What We’re Looking For:
- A passion for working with children and promoting their development.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Relevant Level 3 (or above) childcare qualification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding and EYFS.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a similar leadership role within a nursery setting is preferred.
