Early Years Practitioner

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, qualified, Early Years Practitioner to join our dedicated nursery team part time or full time, 3, 4 or 5 days a week. This is an opportunity to help shape children's learning within our setting, and maintain the excellent standard of early years education we offer. We are flexible with working patterns and believe the best team comprises people who feel supported and able to have a good work/life balance. Our nursery is based on Blackstock Road, N5.

Established in 1991, Little Angels consists of two privately owned settings, each with approximately 70 places for children aged 5 months to 5 years. We have five dedicated rooms; Blue Room (babies), Yellow Room (toddlers), Green Room (2 year olds), Quiet Room & Pre-school (3 & 4 year olds). The nursery is well resourced and has a large, covered outdoor space which offers a range of opportunities for exploration, investigation and play.

Job Outline

The role involves working with the team to create a safe, fun and happy environment for all children in our care so they can thrive and learn. We have a great mix of long-standing staff as well as newly qualified practitioners who work together to come up with engaging activities. We never use any agency staff. The Directors, Area Manager and Managers are on site and provide support whenever needed.

The team are responsible for ensuring effective implementation of our play based, child-led curriculum throughout the nursery and maintaining children’s scrapbooks and children’s observations on the Famly app.

Above all else, we are looking for a kind, proactive practitioner who wants to join a welcoming, family run nursery.

Little Angels is open 49 weeks of the year (the nursery is closed for two weeks at Christmas and one at Easter)

•   Christmas and Easter are paid in full, as well as any remaining bank holidays.

             -    An additional 2 weeks holiday, which can be taken in week long blocks or as individual days during summer and term time (total of 29 days)

•     Ongoing professional development opportunities including apprenticeships (Level 2, 3 and 5), CPD and EYITT opportunities
•     School meals cooked by our chef on site, snacks in the staff room
•     Two paid 15 minute breaks, morning and afternoon, and a 1hr unpaid lunch break

You have to be available to attend Parents’ Evenings twice a year and all INSET days; five per year with time off in lieu if they fall on a non-working day.
