Qualified Room Leader – Early Years

 

Location: High Wycombe

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £13.50 – £16.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualification)

 

Please note: You must hold a full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification or above.

About the Role

 

As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for the smooth daily running of your room, supporting your team to deliver high-quality care and education, and building strong relationships with families. You will be a key person to your group of children, lead planning and observations, and ensure the room reflects the needs and interests of the children in your care.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support your room team to deliver outstanding care and learning experiences

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS

• Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment at all times

• Promote safeguarding and child protection, ensuring procedures are always followed

• Build trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues

• Monitor children’s progress and support their next steps through accurate observations

• Take initiative in daily reflection and ongoing room improvement

• Communicate clearly with parents and carers, sharing updates on their child’s development

• Carry out health & safety checks and contribute to risk assessments

• Maintain records and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures

 

 

What We’re Looking For

• A full and relevant Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Early Years

• Experience working with children aged 3 months to 5 years

• Strong leadership skills and confidence in guiding a small team

• Excellent understanding of the EYFS and child development

• A calm, positive, and professional approach

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Passion for providing exceptional early years education and care
