As Back to the Garden Childcare is expanding (a second nursery is being built and is due to open in April 2021) there is significant opportunity for career progression. From junior unqualified Apprentice to Manager all are expected to train and add to their qualifications. Training is provided both in achieving qualifications and adding skills (eg Yoga, Reflexology). Also valued is experience of working with children in other situations, including bringing up a family.
The nursery is a very creative environment, from Art, Music, Dance, Science, Maths and Language. Employees are sought to add something special in additon to childcare qualifications. External interests are valued and bring other dimensions into the nursery for the children. Since the curriculum is not delivered in a formal manner, learning opportunities can go in their own direction based on what the children and the team decide and on what materials and activities are made available.
