Sukhy

Sukhy gill

Job Title: Nursery Owner/Director Joined: 2017

My name is Sukhy, and I am the proud Owner and Director of Early Years Nurseries.

I opened my first nursery setting in 2017, which quickly became a great success and inspired me to expand and grow our nursery group. Prior to this, I worked in the banking industry for over 15 years, where I developed strong financial, operational, and management skills. I later took a career break to raise my two children, Malkit and Harleen, an experience that further strengthened my passion for high-quality childcare.

The idea of opening my own nursery first came to me in 2014, when my daughter Harleen started nursery. I found myself becoming actively involved, supporting activities and taking a keen interest in how the setting was run. Having always been deeply invested in my children’s education, I saw an opportunity to create a nurturing, high-quality environment for children and families within the community.

As both a parent and a business leader, I bring a balanced perspective, combining professional expertise with a genuine passion for early years education. I am committed to ensuring our nurseries provide a safe, inspiring, and enriching environment where children can thrive, and where families feel supported every step of the way.

I take great pride in building successful settings that make a meaningful and lasting impact within the local community.

John Gill

Job Title: Nursery Owner Joined: 2017

My name is John and, together with my wife Sukhy, I am the proud owner of Early Years Nurseries.

As a father of two, I have always been deeply involved in my children’s upbringing, supporting their care and education to help them reach their full potential. This personal experience has shaped my understanding of what families look for when choosing the right nursery for their child.

My professional background is in the transport industry, where I have built a successful career spanning over 35 years. I am a Chartered Engineer and have spent the past 20 years working at a senior director level, leading multiple business units across a range of sectors. This experience has given me strong leadership, strategic, and operational expertise, which I bring into the nursery environment.

We understand that choosing a nursery, especially for a first child, is a significant and emotional decision for families. We aim to make that decision easier by providing the highest standard of childcare in a safe, secure, and nurturing environment, where every child can thrive, and every family feels supported.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2026

Hi, my name is Katya, and I am the Nursery Manager. I am originally from Latvia and moved to the UK in 2004.

Before moving into childcare, I studied and worked as a railway engineer in Latvia for around five years. My journey in Early Years began in 2009, and since then, I have gained extensive experience within the sector, progressing from a nursery apprentice to a nursery manager. In 2012, I also opened my own childminding business, driven by my passion for supporting children’s development and creating positive learning environments.

I have a strong interest in Forest School, and I hope to bring my knowledge and enthusiasm in this area into the nursery. I am also particularly inspired by the Montessori approach, as it aligns with my belief in encouraging children’s independence, curiosity, and confidence.

Throughout my career, including my role as Deputy Head Teacher in a previous nursery, I have focused on building strong relationships with children, parents, and my team. I aim to create an environment where everyone feels supported, valued, and empowered, while ensuring that every child receives the best possible early years experience.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my daughter, who is currently studying Law and also shares my passion for working with children. She holds a music conservatory degree and, in her spare time, teaches children how to play musical instruments through fun and engaging methods. I also enjoy travelling and meeting new people.

I am confident that, with the strong and dedicated team we have here at the nursery, we will achieve wonderful outcomes for the children in our care.
