The nursery provides a warm, welcoming environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. Dedicated and highly trained staff are passionate about childcare, creating a secure and nurturing space where every child can thrive. Each child is recognised as an individual and supported to build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of discovery through meaningful play and positive relationships.

The outdoors is central to the nursery’s philosophy. Nature is seen as a powerful tool for learning and wellbeing, and children spend extended time outside every day - climbing, digging, planting, creating, and exploring. Outdoor spaces are thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity, develop resilience, and strengthen physical skills, while encouraging imagination and teamwork. Preschool children take part in regular Forest School sessions, enjoying hands-on learning experiences in a natural setting that build confidence, problem-solving skills, and a strong connection with the outdoors.

While independence and exploration are encouraged, safety remains the highest priority. A secure environment and vigilant staff ensure children are supported and cared for at every stage.

Close partnerships with parents are highly valued, ensuring each child’s needs are understood and consistently supported both at nursery and at home. Through open communication and collaboration, families feel reassured and involved in their child’s journey.

Above all, the nursery offers a happy, enriching space where children thrive - growing in confidence and discovering the world indoors and out.

I honestly can't recommend Westfield House Childcare highly enough. They are so caring, supportive and proactive in the care and development of my daughter. From the settling in sessions over 18 months ago, to the daily activities they organise for the children, to the additional support due to my daughter's
condition, they have been the extended family we never knew we needed.

They really do provide a warm, caring, loving, yet exciting, environment for the children, providing a variety of activities and always taking parents' input on what their child's favourite things are and what any challenges might be to offer additional support. They make dropping your child off so much easier knowing that they are in the most safe and caring hands. Honestly, selecting Westfield House Childcare has been one of the best decisions we as parents have ever made.

Reply from Marie Haynes, Owner/Director at Westfield House ChildcareThank you so much for taking the time to share such a lovely review. It means a great deal to our whole team to know that your family has felt supported and cared for during your time with us.

We are passionate about creating a warm, nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued and excited to learn, while supporting their individual needs.

Thank you for trusting us with such an important part of your daughter's early years. It is a privilege to be part of her journey.

We are so happy with Westfield House. Wonderful caring staff and wonderful facilities. The fact that it's based in a house gives it such a nice home feel. We also appreciate the extra activities in pre school such as yoga, baking and forest school. Very happy we've sent our kids here.

My 4y/o son has attended Westfield for almost 2 years and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the setting.
Forest school, science teachers and yoga lessons are just some of the activities they have on offer. The food is very much loved by my son (the only issue is I can never live up to
the standard with my food at home! Haha)
My son really loves all of the staff and looks forward to going into nursery every day. The rooms themself are decorated beautifully, light and homely and I really does feel like more of a home from home than just a childcare facility.
I have never had any issues and would recommend to everyone, especially to parents with children who love the outdoors!

We've had two kids go to Westfield and couldn't fault it. We switched from another nursery as my eldest didn't settle, but both kids have settled easily into Westfield. They do loads of activities and spend so much time outside. The only downfall is my kids love it so much they ask to go on the weekends!
Reply from Emma Hindle, Deputy Manager at Westfield House ChildcareThank you so much for your wonderful review of Westfield House!

We're so pleased both of your children settled in so well and are enjoying all the activities and outdoor time. We work closely with families to provide strong, supportive transitions and gentle settling-in periods, so it means a lot to hear this made a difference.

And the fact they'd happily come on weekends truly makes us smile - what a compliment! :)

Couldn't be more impressed with Westfield House. Our little one absolutely loves going to nursery, he's been so so happy there since starting. The staff are fantastic, you can just feel how much they care about the little ones and take pride in their jobs. The time, care and energy they put into each
day is so impressive. They go outside everyday, have delicious meals and really thoughtful fun activities. Really delighted to have found somewhere so good.

My daughter attended Westfield House for toddler and preschool care.
The experience that she and we received was exceptional.
My daughter was offered a wide range of experiences daily, including forest school and yoga practice. The staff were always focused on providing the best care for her and
helped to build the foundations for moving forward to onto the next stage of primary school.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.092)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.092) out of 10 for Westfield House Childcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.986 for Westfield House Childcare is calculated as follows: ( (71 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.986
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.106 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Westfield House Childcare is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 = 3.55
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 number of registered child places is 10.8. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.8 = 0.556
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2017

My name is Jo, and I am proud to be the Manager of Westfield House Childcare. I joined Westfield House in 2017 as a practitioner and quickly stepped into the role of Manager.

As a qualified primary school teacher specialising in Early Years education, I spent six years teaching in a primary school setting, including Nursery and Reception. Throughout my career, I have been driven by a genuine passion for giving young children the very best start in life.

I believe the Early Years are a crucial time for building secure foundations for learning, nurturing curiosity, and developing confidence. Supporting children as they grow in independence, discover their strengths, and flourish both academically and emotionally is what inspires me every day. It is a privilege to play a part in helping each child reach their full potential in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment.

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2013

My name is Emma. I am the Deputy Manager at Westfield House and I joined the nursery in 2013. Alongside my role as Deputy Manager, I am also the Room Leader of our baby room, Hedgehogs.

My passion for Early Years began when I was young, inspired by watching my mum work in the sector. From then on, I always knew this was the path I wanted to follow. I love supporting both children, parents and colleagues, and being part of the nursery’s continued growth and development.

As Baby Room Leader, I feel incredibly lucky to witness those very first milestones — from first smiles and steps to growing confidence and curiosity. Watching the children flourish and progress through the nursery over the years is such a rewarding part of my role.
