Little Weavers Day Care is a magical place steeped in history. Situated in The Old Hilden Primary School which originally opened in 1912. After closing in 2008, the community embarked on a long journey to save the building and now in 2025 this building has been beautifully restored and has opened the doors to children once again.

Little Weavers Day Care will provide care for children aged 0-5 years and aim to be a 'home from home'. The curriculum provides a variety of learning opportunities to meet the needs of individual children with a particular emphasis on children enjoying the outdoors. The daycare has a beautiful natural play space where the children can explore nature, create mud pies and look after the wildlife, all filled with exciting learning opportunities.

Little Weavers Day Care is a social enterprise, a subsidiary of the Resurgam Trust which is a community owned organisation which encompasses the principles of community development.

The vision of The Resurgam Trust is to connect people and transform communities. The Mission is to create a sustainable environment within which all are proud to live, learn, play and work. I was so worried about sending my daughter to daycare. As soon as we walked in and met all the staff it just felt like the perfect place for her! The staff are absolutely brilliant with her and they've made us feel like we've been there forever. My daughter is absolutely thriving and loving it here.
I couldn't ask for anywhere better to send her.

From the moment we arrived, the nursery felt like home. The staff are truly amazing, warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in the children. The space is so unique bright and airy, set in an old primary school with a lovely outdoor area that my son loves.
The difference we've seen at home has been
really striking. The focused activities and structure each day have had such a positive impact. He talks about the staff all the time and genuinely enjoys going in-he runs through the door most morning.
The detailed updates through the app make it so easy to stay connected and understand his day, which is really reassuring. The staff have also been incredibly supportive with things like potty training, which has made a real difference.
As its also a social enterprise, and you can truly feel that in the ethos-the children are clearly at the heart of everything they do.
He is thriving, and we couldn't recommend Little weavers highly enough.

I would highly recommend Little Weavers to families seeking daycare for their little ones. My little boy has taken his time to settle and I can't thank the staff enough for all their efforts in assisting with this. They have been encouraging, warm and so personable throughout. They show dedication and
passion in all they do. They have taken the time to get to know his likes and dislikes. They allowed me additional time to help settle him in which I have greatly appreciated. Their app is updated regularly which as parents puts our minds at ease throughout the day. The nursery environment is beautiful, it is homely and allows plenty of opportunity for little ones to explore. Their range of toys is exceptional and there is plenty for your little one to engage with and learn from through the day. There was an immediate warmth on viewing the nursery and I would encourage families to visit it!

5 out of 5, I can not recommend this nursery highly enough.
We've moved from a recently awarded 'Top 20 nursery in the UK' and this one is way better.
A very calm and peaceful recently renovated building with very big windows letting in plenty of daylight.
There's a huge selection of new toys
and equipment giving our child plenty of activities to do everyday.
Food and menu are very healthy which is great.
Staff are amazing, very caring and tentative. Special shout out to Cora, Debbie and the wider team for making us feel welcome from the first day we walked into the nursery before opening.
This place is a hidden gem in Lisburn.

From the moment my son moved to Little Weavers from another local nursery, we noticed such a positive change in him. His confidence has grown so much, and it has been incredibly special to see him so happy, settled and excited to go in each day.

He absolutely loves his time there, especially all

the outdoor play and creative activities, and it is clear how much thought and care goes into making each day enjoyable and stimulating for the children.

We have also been so impressed with the variety of food he is offered, and even his naps have improved since starting there, which really shows how comfortable and secure he feels in the setting.

What stands out most about Little Weavers is the genuine love, warmth and experience of the staff. It is felt in every interaction, and as a parent, that means everything.

You can tell the children are truly cared for, and that they are in an environment where they are nurtured and encouraged to thrive.

Such a fabulous new nursery. I have two kids attending fulltime at Little Weavers. The staff are wonderful and makes it easier to drop them off to such caring and kind staff.
Each week there is fun activities and lots of time spent outside in the play area.

Our experience with Little Weavers has been nothing short of outstanding, our son has been attending now for around 6 weeks - after never being away from us to be looked by anyone else, he was extremely fearful of daycare, but with the wonderful staffs patience and care he has really come into his own
and is now enjoying attending. I cant recommend enough.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.679)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.679) out of 10 for Little Weavers Day Care is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.967 for Little Weavers Day Care is calculated as follows: ( (116 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 120 Ratings = 4.967
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.712 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Weavers Day Care is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 number of registered child places is 10.4. 10 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.4 = 0.962
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
