Dollis is embedded in the community of Mill Hill, in the North London borough of Barnet. It is a pre-school, nursery and primary state school, welcoming children from 2-11 years from all backgrounds.

Children learn through play, and at Dollis, experienced staff believe that children play and learn best when they are happy and excited by what’s happening in their space: they becoming enthusiastic, curious, confident and independent explorers.

Dollis is also a primary school. Experts report that spending time in a school-based nursery can have a positive impact on future academic achievement, cognitive development and wellbeing. This is largely due to the continuity of the environment, relationships, and the curriculum which links in, and is integral part of, the school curriculum. Your child's learning journey starts with advantage at Dollis.

Dollis is government-funded.

We offer parents 30 hours of FREE childcare through the government's scheme.
For parents who are not eligible for the funding - or if they need more than 30 hours' childcare - there is a charge of ÂŁ25 per day for nursery, and ÂŁ20 for pre-school.

We offer breakfast and after school clubs to support working parents, and are open from 7.45-18.00.

This school is truly an excellent place for children to learn and grow. The teachers are dedicated, supportive, and highly professional, creating a positive and inspiring learning environment for every student.
The school facilities are clean, well-maintained, and well-equipped to support both academic
and extracurricular activities. Lessons are engaging and thoughtfully planned, helping students develop confidence, creativity, and strong academic skills.
Communication between the school and parents is clear and consistent, which builds trust and reassurance. Students feel safe, motivated, and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
I highly recommend this school to any parent who wants the best education and care for their child.

The nursery setting for 3-4 year olds is wonderfully prepared and provides excellent experiences and opportunities for play. My daughter has a brilliant time there everyday. At the nursery so much thought and effort from the staff goes into planning activities and supervising the children. The nursery
provides a great and suitable stepping stone for reception and beyond.
Reply from Flavia Cerrone, Head of Marketing at Dollis Primary School, Pre-school & NurseryThank you so much K for your feedback. The team will be proud to hear that your child loves the nursery!

Our twins has started preschool in September and they are absolutely loving it. They settled into it so well from day one. Children are always looked after and cared for.
They do a lot of activities during that 3 hours of school day. We do get loads of pictures and videos and it's so nice to see how
they interact with another children and adults.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.960)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.960) out of 10 for Dollis Primary School, Pre-school & Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.979 for Dollis Primary School, Pre-school & Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (47 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.979
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.981 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Dollis Primary School, Pre-school & Nursery is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 33 number of registered child places is 6.6. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.6 = 0.606
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
