Step Start Witham

We moved our 2 year old from another nursery to Witham Step Start in September last year. The whole settling in/onboard process was brilliant, fee structure was clear with no hidden costs. The staff did a wonderful job of helping our child transition and settle. Very impressed with the service that the nursery has provided - it's a very well managed nursery with an excellent set up. The staff are fantastic with the children, the communication throughout the day is brilliant and you get to drop off and pick up from the rooms which gives a great feeling of trust/transparency. The rooms are always cleaned to a high standard, and set up for the following day with activity tables. The outdoor space is nice, and they seem to spend a decent amount of time outside. Staff really care and support when your child isn't feeling 100%, and listen and work hard to help with development. Managers are attentive and respond very quickly- systems and procedures are well managed. Highly recommended!

Our daughter started at Step Start Witham in September 2025. She really enjoys going and the staff really care for her. They provide a safe environment and always look out for her wellbeing. They provide regular updates on how she is doing and what she has been learning.

We've seen such beautiful growth in him since joining Step Start, and we're so grateful for the positive, caring, and happy environment surrounding him every day

We honestly couldn't be happier with Step Start Witham. From the very beginning, the staff have been absolutely amazing and the level of care they provide is exceptional. As an anxious mum, leaving my little boy was something I found really difficult, but the team made me feel completely at ease from day one.

Every member of staff is so kind, caring, patient, and genuinely invested in the children's wellbeing and development. My little boy absolutely loves going in, which says everything. The communication is fantastic, the environment is warm and welcoming, and it's so reassuring knowing he is happy, safe, and so well looked after.

I truly couldn't fault this nursery at all and I'm so grateful for everything they do. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a caring, nurturing, and supportive environment for their child.

Very happy with the care and development that this nursery provides. Daughter is extremely happy there, and as parents we have had no complaints about anything! The practicalities of the building are a little difficult sometimes, navigating prams in narrow corridors, and there is no official pram store. However these are such minor issues when everything else at the nursery is so brilliant. The staff are wonderful and the facilities are great.

We've never had any problems and would definitely recommend this nursery.

We honestly couldn't be happier with this nursery. I have a 3 year old in Big Steps and a 1 year old in First Steps, and the care they both receive is amazing.

Every single member of staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They've created such a nurturing and fun environment where both of my children have grown in confidence and developed so much. The activities they create are engaging, educational, and tailored to each age group.

In Big Steps, the school readiness programme is fantastic. It's really helped my daughter build independence, confidence, and key early learning skills in a really enjoyable way. She starts school in 2027 and I'm so pleased she has another year of this before she starts!

I always feel reassured that my children are safe, happy, and well looked after. A truly amazing nursery! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone!

The cost of nursery is very expensive, however I think this is more of a country wide issue, rather than a Step Start one.

We have had a wonderful experience at Step Start Witham. The staff are so friendly and give us updates throughout the day and then a handover when we pick our child up. The food is fresh and has a lot of variety which is perfect for our child. They cater to our child's needs and are very adaptable, what might work for one child might not work for another so they do their best to accommodate. The facilities at Step Start are amazing, the rooms are so spacious and the outdoor area is lovely, it gives a very homely feel and we couldn't ask for better. We get updates of our child's learning and any observations the nursery staff have and these are all updated on the app so we can see what they've been up to and how they're learning and developing.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for 7 months now and has really settled in well thanks to the warm and caring staff who take such good care of her every day. They have done a great job at keeping me informed of my daughter's progress and are quick to notice if she isn't her usual self and needs extra care. They also do a great job of including parents by doing small events for things like Easter and Mothers Day. I am so happy that we chose this nursery and my daughter loves coming here day in day out!
