Located just outside Petersfield, Ditcham Park School is an independent school welcoming pupils up to the age of 16. Set high on the South Downs, the school enjoys sweeping views across the Hampshire countryside, creating a peaceful and inspiring setting where young people can learn and develop in a caring, supportive environment.

Within this beautiful setting is a dedicated full-time nursery offering care and early education for children from six months to school age. Housed in its own building and operating independently from the main school, Dragonflies at Ditcham Day Nursery provides a boutique-style early years experience focused on quality and individual attention. The recently refurbished nursery is surrounded by open spaces that encourage children to explore, play and grow.

Dragonflies at Ditcham is designed to inspire imagination and creativity, giving children the freedom to discover, learn and enjoy the wonder of early childhood each day. The nursery offers a warm, inclusive environment that feels like a home away from home, where every child is recognised, supported and valued as an individual.

Very good level of care and our son loves his days there.
The staff really care for the children and are always looking after their needs with the highest level possible.
This is our second child to attend Dragonfly's and we have recommended them to friends.

I have nothing but great things to say about dragonflies at Ditcham nursery.
Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds since being here, the care and support that is provided is wonderful, both to Vogue and to us as parents.
The staff are amazing and keep you updated with all information as soon as
possible, the food provided is outstanding (a really good variety and you'd never need to worry about them being hungry) and it's a bonus that the facilities are both great outdoors and indoors for our little ones to explore.
Really couldn't ask for more from a nursery.

We are really happy with the nursery and the care they provide.

The nursery has a great range of outdoor educational spaces where the children can explore, learn and play. It's lovely knowing they spend plenty of time outside in such a stimulating environment.

The meals they provide are nutritious

and varied, and it has really helped our child become a great eater who is willing to try different foods.

They also offer a fantastic range of activities that the children really get involved in, including music, drama and PE, which our child thoroughly enjoys.

What we appreciate most is how well the staff know and understand our child. They are warm, attentive and clearly care about each child, which makes a huge difference.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.875)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.875) out of 10 for Dragonflies Ditcham is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Dragonflies Ditcham is calculated as follows: ( (36 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Dragonflies Ditcham is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 number of registered child places is 4.8. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.8 = 0.625
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
