I am thankful for this opportunity to review Ellie's Nursery as they have been incredibly welcoming to us as a family. They always make the children feels so included and safe. I was obviously nervous, as any parent would be, handing my little one over to a nursery for the first time, but I couldn't
have hoped for a better group of people to keep her safe and happy. Thanks to the whole team Ellie's.

I have been so impressed with Ellie's nursery and how much they have helped our son settle in. He has been there 6 months now and he absolutely loves it! Ellie's are very attentive to each child and they have encouraged our son so much with his speaking and his favourite activities. The staff are all
wonderful and the atmosphere at the nursery is one of love and care. Our son went full time at Ellie's at 10 months old so this has been really reassuring for us that he is in such good hands.
Reply from Tamara Ferguson, Deputy Manager at Ellie's NurseryThank you so much for your lovely review and for sharing your experience with Ellie's Nursery. It truly means a lot to our team to hear such kind feedback.

We are so pleased that your son has settled in so well and that he enjoys his time with us. Watching the children grow in confidence, develop their communication skills and discover the activities they love is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

Caring for little ones from as young as 10 months is a real privilege, so it's wonderful to hear that you feel reassured and supported. Our team works hard to create a nurturing environment where every child feels safe, happy and encouraged to learn and explore.

Thank you again for your trust and support, we feel very lucky to have your family as part of the Ellie's community.

started at Ellie's 3 weeks ago two days a week. My child hadn't ever been left before so was worried. Well that went out the window - had three settling in sessions where she didn't even acknowledge me! The sensory room had just opened which is an absolutely amazing space. My child has additional needs
and she loves it in there. The staff are all so friendly and caring and my little girl loves in goes straight in without a backward glance. I'm so happy I managed to get a place here as it's friendly professionals al yet small enough so no one is overlooked. Oh forgot freshly prepared meals and snacks from in-house chef!

My daughter has been coming to Ellie's since they opened and she has thoroughly enjoyed every day she has spent there. The team are lovely, the facilities are great and most of all I know my child is happy being there. I really look forward to hearing what they have been up to each day and to have such
an in-depth parents' evening was fantastic - thank you

Ellie's has been a godsend for us, I was new to the area and was searching for a local nursery, visiting many around Epping which didn't quite hit the mark, I was so happy when I found out Ellie's would be opening on the high road. I contacted Ellie before the nursery even opened and she was super helpful
from the get-go. I had a great feeling and attended the open day and once I met the staff it sealed the deal. My son started in July and everyone has been so accommodating when settling him in, going above and beyond to ensure he's comfortable and happy. He comes home and tells me that his key workers are 'funny' and seeing the progress he's made is a reflection on how attentive they all are. Very happy with our choice and highly recommend it!

We joined Ellie's Nursery in June after leaving another nursery. The transition was easy. The staff are absolutely amazing. My child gets very excited for nursery days. My child has learnt so much since joining Ellies. I feel the level of care and attention my child and I have received is phenomenal.
I am so happy we changed nurseries and I highly recommend Ellie's to every parent I meet.

Ellie's Nursery has been fantastic with my 3-year-old son, I can't recommend them enough! Having moved from another area, the Manager has been incredibly thoughtful easing him in gently, ensuring he settled and helping him establish a routine (not to mention new friends). They have the latest facilities
(including miniature toilets to help with potty training), educational toys and books. Their outside area has a soft floor for safety along with a race track for the children to enjoy, a sand pit and many more toys. They have herb/fruit plants to encourage the children to learn about food. The Manager and her team are warm, and thoughtful and make learning fun, the nursery really does feel like a little family.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.360)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.360) out of 10 for Ellie's Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.969 for Ellie's Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (93 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.969
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.391 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ellie's Nursery is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.65
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 number of registered child places is 10.8. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.8 = 0.741
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
