Since starting, our daughter's confidence and communication skills have flourished, and her curiosity has grown beautifully. She comes home excited to share what she's learned and the friendships she's building. The school nurtures the whole child - fostering confidence, kindness, independence, and resilience alongside academic growth. Choosing The Square School has been one of the best decisions we've made, and we're so grateful to the wonderful team.
Our third daughter started this nursery in May 2025. I cannot express how happy I am with this nursery, after only learning about it by walking past its gate. Our two other daughters attended different nurseries but neither of them settled in as well as our third daughter has. The playdate at our house with staff member ahead of Willow starting the nursery was transformational to the whole experience. The children are kept busy, they learn lots and generally having a great time! Willow is excited after the weekend to see the staff member and her friends again.
Our son started in April & I cannot speak highly enough about them & how he has thrived under their care. The range of activities they do every day is extraordinary; this week alone they made a volcano out of plaster of paris, painted it & showed the kids a 30 seconds video of a volcano exploding to engage them in the activity. The kids are constantly baking, gardening & learning. The 1 thing that struck us when looking for a nursery was that this is a Montessori learning environment, which is very different to daycare. There are a number of places that offer daycare, which is essentially what it says on the tin. They keep children safe whilst parents work, usually offering long day options. This is very different, as the children are learning constantly & their fine motor skill & speech are improving through engaging, interactive activities. Our son cries on the weekends when he doesn't go; that says it all. We can't even walk past the school on weekends, as he wants to go in. He loves it.
Our son Oliver has absolutely loved his time here - he's grown in confidence, made wonderful friendships, and learned so much through play and discovery. The staff know each child so well and always go above and beyond to make them feel safe, valued, and happy.
We're so grateful for the love and attention shown to Oliver, and we will really miss being part of this wonderful community. Highly recommended to any family looking for a warm, welcoming, and inspiring nursery.
The food was also excellent. Our son enjoyed the meals, which made things much easier for us as parents. While the nursery allows lunch packs from home, it's a real bonus when your child eats the provided meals with joy.
We are truly grateful for everything the nursery has given our child during his time there. It's a wonderful place, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent looking for more than just childcare - a place where their child will be truly cared for.
Our daughter (2.5y) attended The Square Nursery School from Jan - July 2025. I didn't return to work after mat leave and was the main carer for her so was nervous about how she'd cope without me but the manager, one staff member in particular and the wider team at TSNS couldn't have been warmer, more accommodating, flexible and supportive of her transition to a nursery setting. She settled in extremely quickly, always loved going to school and spoke highly of her teachers and friends. The school organised many fun trips out - to the library, the park, to buy toothbrushes etc. and had thoughtful, themed weeks throughout each term. Our highlight was when the nursery organised for duck eggs to hatch at school and the children spent the following weeks watching them hatch, feed, swim, before being rehomed. Can't speak more highly of this school and would recommend it to any family looking for a 'home away from home' environment who care deeply about each child and their unique needs.
He only cried at drop-off for a few days, then quickly came to love the teachers and went to nursery every morning with a smile. He picked up English so fast-singing songs, saying the days of the week, and chatting happily with others.
The curriculum is fantastic, too. He learned to cook in fun classes and even experienced hatching duck eggs-something so unique.
The teachers always found and shared his good qualities, which really encouraged me in a new parenting environment. The staff's warm greetings and cheerful conversations always lifted me up.
Even at home, he celebrated his teachers' birthdays (even when it wasn't their birthday), which showed how happy he felt at nursery.
I sent my youngest here in Jan. My oldest went to another nursery, which highlighted to me was how exceptional the service, care, professionalism, kindness & staff are at The Square Nursery. They could not be more different to my other nursery experience. They are innovative with their activities & have a FULL calendar every term. It fills me with such joy to know that my child is doing so much more than I ever could with him. The headteacher is wonderful & so are two other specific staff members. They are the kindest, warmest people, who clearly love their job & all the children. They have an abundance of patience & time & they take pride in their work to make every child feel special. They are nurturing & understanding & do not apply a '1 size fits all' attitude when it comes to children's development. I visited A LOT of nurseries & as soon as i walked into this one I made the decision on the spot that we would send my child here. The premises are so clean & inviting & the garden is big & beautiful.
Our daughter used to come here and all teachers were adorable. They were very helpful with the settling in (no tears!), they always shared a few words at pick-up describing how the morning had been like and what special progress our daughter had made on that particular day. They cared about the curriculum as well: parents' meetings were very detailed and you could see the learning curve of your child on all different areas. We can't recommend enough this nursery!
The Square Nursery School is home away from home for my granddaughter. The staff are like family, and the interactions without a doubt are second to none! Activities, always prepared to stretch my granddaughter's mind and imagination, making her always excited to be there, her hand-eye coordination improved with ease, not to mention her fine motor skills. The Square Nursery School is truly a Gem. Hard to find, I'm so grateful it exists.
My daughter is truly privileged to have been able to experience this nursery. What makes this place truly amazing is the devotion from the staff. The staff here truly love working with children and it shows. I felt at ease leaving my child there knowing they were truly being cared for, educated, showed compassion and respect. My daughter formed great friendships and learnt so much here. The staff even assisted me with her fussy eating and toilet training! It was so upsetting when she had to leave as I knew no primary school would ever be able to match up to this nursery.
The Square Nursery School has been a second home for our child, and we owe a lot to the amazing teachers. Their genuine warmth and kindness have had such a positive impact on our child's life. They know every child's personality and interests, and they tailor activities to make learning enjoyable. They have created a nurturing and fun environment where our little one feels safe and happy. This kind of dedication and personal attention has made The Square Nursery School an exceptional place, and we are so grateful to have found it.
One of the reasons I chose this nursery was because I could also see they focused on language development through active communication, personal engagement and love which is far different from other nurseries.
After a year and a half, we had to leave this nursery because we moved to another area, which was really sad. My son still says this is his favourite nursery and remembers all the teachers' names.
The exceptional teachers personalized their approach to meet each child's needs, creating a strong sense of security and belonging. The comprehensive and flexible curriculum promoted cognitive, social, and motor skills through a variety of fun activities such as forest school, excursions out, free play and garden activities.
Communication with parents was excellent, with regular updates and meetings in person keeping us well-informed. Photos were also shared securely on the app. The inclusive atmosphere fostered a strong sense of community, encouraging friendships and social development amongst the children as well as the parent community.
Overall, I highly recommend it to any parent seeking a nursery for their child.
Thanks to the love, care, and effort we received at the Square, my daughter was more than ready to attend primary school. She made wonderful friends and memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you!
The teachers at The Square Nursery School are great at working on the individual needs of each child, and we were able to easily overcome some developmental hurdles with their help.
The facilities are bright and cheerful, with lots of educational and fun activities!
I'm forever thankful to the staff there for taking such good care of my kids.
I sent my 3-year-old daughter to this nursery, after trying out 2 local nurseries prior, but she never settled in them. But when we discovered Square Nursery School via a friend's recommendation I knew the search was over! This is truly the best thing I did for my daughter. She was so happy instantly, with no tears and excelled in every way here! Feels like home. The garden space is much bigger than any nursery I saw in the area, kids love it and get actively involved in gardening. The teachers get all the credit though. They are passionate for the kids to grow academically and personally - making them fully prepared for primary school! I too made wonderful friends here. Just a delight! 5 stars for this unpresuming nursery.
Both of my children have gone to The Square Nursery School and have experienced happy, individual and fulfilling experiences. They have done a wonderful job of helping our boys develop both academically and emotionally and we really feel the school is an extension from home. The lovely teachers have always treated our sons like family, and they too feel like family to us.
A truly outstanding nursery with warm and friendly staff - a gem of a school in this area. Would highly recommend to anyone, after having three children of our own attend this school. The facilities have been recently renewed and look fantastic!
