My daughter has been here for two years and cannot rate this nursery enough. First time mum and the girls filled me with reassurance and confidence about leaving my daughter at 9 months, they give regular up dates and pictures of what they get up to in their day. My daughter loves nursery days. They
have great facilities including soft play, the garden, an allotment and the large indoor AstroTurf. The kids can get involved with baking. My daughter has came on leaps and bounds, I love seeing the updates on how much she is coming along and new things she is being taught! The staff are so friendly and welcoming! They have also been amazing and encouraging with every new stage of her development.

Fantastic nursery with excellent facilities. Both my children love attending Puddle Lane. Staff are attentive and look out for best interests of children. The children spend a lot of time outdoors which they love and they are taught to appreciate nature and the environment.

The nursery stands out with a large garden! Plenty of time is spent outdoors in the fresh air. The day sounds like it is fun-filled. There really are so many activities and experiences kids get to do that they may not get at other nurseries. The staff go over and above to make sure the kids are settled
and happy.

As soon as we open the door to Puddle Lane we are met with smiles! It is such a happy place to be. The kids have so much fun and family events are held too. There is soft play and a dedicated dining are which I havent seen in other nurseries. The meals are good I hear too. My advice would be visit and
see for yourself that it is a top choice.

My two children have attended Puddle Lane nursery, my youngest currently still does. It is a great nursery, very welcoming and friendly. Teachers go above for the children. We have had a very happy and enjoyable experience.

Puddle Lane is a wonderful nursery. From the start they've been very patient and kind with us to make the transition as easy as possible on us. I feel like they really took the time to get to know my child and their preferences and likes. They've always made us feel heard and supported with our little
one's food allergies, too. Whenever our child needs some extra emotional support, the staff are there to offer it and find new ways to make a difficult situation easier for them.
I found the whole atmosphere a lot more supportive and calm at Puddle Lane than in other nurseries we've seen. I also love the parent days and celebrations they have every so often, because it's a great way of getting to know the staff a bit more too and it feels like we don't give our child into the care of complete strangers. I would whole-heartedly recommend them.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.062)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.062) out of 10 for Puddle Lane is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Puddle Lane is calculated as follows: ( (71 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.062 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Puddle Lane is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 number of registered child places is 13. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.462
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
