A lovely environment and caring teachers. My son enjoys the food and toys there. A good mix of activities and outdoor play. It's nice to have a note of what the child ate during the day.
Just occasionally it feels a lack of staff members in the room.
My son is very happy here, he claps when we pull up outside. As a family we have always found the staff so welcoming. The flexibility they try to offer if they can in terms of swapping a day if you miss yours for whatever reason is amazing. I just hope the new management/owner doesn't change things for the staff or families too much because from our perspective, they are great! Thanks for all you do for our boy.
All staff at reception are also very approachable and helpful. Can't recommend enough.
We have had a very positive experience of old school house endcliffe since our eldest son started there in January 2023. The management team are very responsive to questions and are a friendly team to meet us every morning at drop off. The staff working in the rooms and looking after the children are fantastic - caring and committed to providing the children with a supportive and fun environment. We have been very pleased and hope the nursery can continue to be managed in such a way that puts the children first, and enables the staff to provide the best care.
Overall, a great experience. Nursery go out of their way to fit child in on other days at short notice if they can, and are also willing to swap days which is a huge pro.
I wish the nursery would use the app to add information about your child's day, instead everything is on paper. Also, it would be nice if the food rotated on different days so children access a more varied diet, rather than always having the same thing on Wednesdays (bi-weekly) for example.
Our daughter is very confident with everything she does including her speech, which we feel nursery has definitely played a huge part in. She always arrives and leaves very happy! Every day that we drop her off the staff in each room, including in reception, are so enthusiastic to see her, which really helps parents when dropping off.
One thing we especially love is the booklet around her development and the photographs and drawings in there, which is something we can keep forever. We are so happy we get to send our second daughter to the nursery when she is one, due to the level of care we have seen from all of the staff!
Have always been pleased with the flexibility, welcoming nature of staff and the fact our children have always seemed happy to be at OSH. The pictures sent at the end of the week are great to see and the end of year report lovely too.
Both my children have gone to old school house. The nursery carers are really nurturing and the kids have lots of fun - my son is always dressing up and doing dance routines. The facilities and outside space are fantastic with lots of bikes and ride ons for the kids. The nursery are also very supportive with things like potty training and my eldest was very well prepared for school.
The Old School House is an excellent nursery. Julian seems to really enjoy his time there. We are happy with the care and food given to Julian. Julian has learned lots of new skills and really enjoys playing in the garden room.
My child had never been away from me before starting nursery so was very reluctant to be left on her own and cried the first few visits, the nursery staff where very good at comforting her and helping her settle in. She can't wait to go to play at nursery now to see her friends and staff and has turned into a very confident happy child . She loves nursery and her time there. The staff in her room are brilliant with the children, very respectful of each and every child and know their personalities and likes and dislikes. The children get a lot of outdoor time where there is lots of clean new equipment and activities. There's also lots of different activities indoors that are changed regularly and the children do lots of singing, my child often comes home singing new songs she has learnt. The Managment staff are very informative and helpful. (When she was settling in they rang me with updates to put my mind at ease)
On the occasion when we have had a last minute change of plans and had to put our son in nursery, the staff have been very accommodating.
I cannot speak more highly of this nursery. My son has SEN and nursery have gone above and beyond in working with us, the SEN representatives at the Council and the school he is going to to ensure he has the help he needs. The nursery and his key worker really understand my child and have adapted and brought in resources to ensure he is happy and learning in a way that works for him. My son loves nursery and I couldn't be happier with how they have nurtured him.
Really grateful and thankful for the team at OSH.
Our children are very happy at this nursery, there is always clear communication from nursery and the staff are caring towards the children. There are lots of activities and it is clear our children are learning lots at nursery. We would happily recommend this nursery to other parents.
My son absolutely loves this nursery, and the staff do an incredible job preparing him for school. They offer a fantastic range of activities, from baking, tennis, and French lessons to engaging outdoor learning experiences and exciting weekly themes. Though my son is naturally quiet, the team has been incredibly supportive, helping him build his confidence and truly come out of his shell.
Each class she has been in we couldn't have asked for better carers/teachers, they have all genuinely taken the time to know our child.
Our daughter has made some lovely friends, and she really looks forward to going to nursery. We have seen her develop so much there, and I feel she's ready for school despite being younger in the academic year. It will be sad to say bye, but it has been a great place for her to attend for nearly 4 years.
My daughter has been going to The Old School House since she was 10 months old and will be leaving to go to school in September. She has always been well cared for and has formed very close bonds with the staff and the other children there. The nursery is well organised and professional, while being friendly and flexible. She has loved her time there and will be sad to leave.
