Horbury Day Nursery offers a warm, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can learn, explore and develop through every stage of their early years.
The baby room is thoughtfully designed around babies’ interests and developmental needs, with sensory exploration at its heart. Heuristic resources, sand, messy play, painting, playdough and water activities encourage curiosity and creativity, while stairs, ramps and other physical challenges support developing gross motor skills.
Singing and stories are also an important part of daily life. Flexible routines are tailored to each baby and aligned with their home life, with parents kept updated through Famly.
The toddler room provides a carefully prepared environment that supports growing communication, independence, social skills and confidence. Child-led play and invitations to explore include role play, construction, sand and small-world activities, helping children develop their imagination, language and problem-solving abilities.
In pre-school, learning is made enjoyable through a wide range of activities that help prepare children for school. Letters and Sounds, Makaton, early literacy and numeracy, creative activities, music, movement, experiments and outdoor play are incorporated throughout the day. Daily circle time encourages communication, listening, turn-taking and cooperation.
Children across the nursery can enjoy a dedicated indoor soft play room, supporting physical development through climbing, crawling, balancing and active play. Each room also has access to its own outdoor garden, where children can enjoy physical and imaginative play in all weather.
Parents are kept informed through Famly and monthly newsletters, with an open-door approach encouraging communication, ideas and feedback.

About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
- Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 51 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 51 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 22.4 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

They provide full updates on future learnings/ progression/ curricula and activities my child will or has taken part in.
