Wonderful nursery, with fantastic staff.
My grandson's confidence has grown so much since starting with playpals, and it's most certainly down to the love and care he receives from all the staff.
He goes in with a big smile on his face every time!
Everyone is approachable and always happy to help
in any way they can.
I highly recommend playpals, it's just an all round fantastic nursery, with amazing staff.

My daughter started PlayPals in September 2026. It is the best decision I have ever made, enrolling my child to this nursery. All the staff have built amazing relationships with my daughter and she absolutely loves going there. She has come on leaps and bounds and her development is amazing to see.
You can see the genuine love the staff have for these children.

My daughter started playpals in hindley green April last year and has thrived since starting.
My daughter runs on in with a big smile on her face.
The app they use is always updated and it's great to see a varied menu that is given. My daughter eats like a queen there.
The staff and management
are amazing. They care for every single child and always give us information.
My eldest daughter is 7 and used to attend this nursery and it was amazing then. It still is amazing now.
Wouldn't send my children anywhere else.

Both of my boys have attended playpal and they continuously prove they are the best around, always working around busy schedules and very flexible. I always recommend playpals to everyone. My oldest has been attending since he was 6 months old and my youngest 5 months old. They both smile as soon as
they see the girls, its amazing to see they are so happy upon dropping off. They help along with weaning and potty training and I couldn't have done any of it without them

Amazing nursery with such a warm and loving atmosphere.
My little boy always goes in with a big smile. His face lights up when he see's the staff who are absolutely brilliant.
All the staff genuinely care for the children and right from the day i looked around the nursery they've shown this.
They
really take the time to get to know the children, including the staff at a managerial level which i think is lovely. There communication and support is excellent.
They're always doing little activities which you can then see on the app. Along with their meals, naps, nappy changing etc.

when picking up my son there is always a hand over of how he has been, what he has eaten, which is appreciated as my son struggles with this.
I highly recommend this nursery, it really does stand out from all the other nurseries i looked around.
A massive thank you to all the staff! it makes going back to work so much easier knowing your little one is happy and content

PlayPals is a wonderful nursery! My daughter loves going there and all the staff are so lovely and really care for all the children. They are very proactive on the app as they regularly post updates on activities the little ones are up to and are very quick to respond to any messages. I would recommend
them to any expectant parents without hesitation. Thanks for everything you do!

A fantastic place for your little one, the structure of the nursery works great for our little girl, she has come out of her shell and become more confident in the very short period she has been attending, and the staff are lovely and helpful. We looked at several other options before visiting here
and we were made to feel welcome from the start. Highly recommend.

My baby started nursery in July and the staff were very helpful and reassuring during his transition into nursery life. They keep me up to date with any relevant information and they are very approachable. My baby loves nursery and is always very happy when I drop him off and pick him up which fills
me with confidence that he will have a nice day whilst in their care. Would highly recommend this nursery.

Lovely nursery! Very friendly staff, clean and amazing settings. We were struggling to potty train our son and they helped do it. Food variety is great, our son loves snacks there as well. Would love our son to stay here longer but he is heading to pre-school! Thank you for everything.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.799)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.799) out of 10 for Play Pals Childcare Atherton Road is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.974 for Play Pals Childcare Atherton Road is calculated as follows: ( (152 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 156 Ratings = 4.974
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Play Pals Childcare Atherton Road is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 number of registered child places is 7, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
