Cromwell Road Day Nursery and Pre-school

My child attends the nursery since September 2023. Recently, our experience is amazing. We received very good daily feedback on his activities, improvement and what we need to work on. My child loves to go to nursery, has an adorable relationship with his friends and the staff. I see a lot of new positive changes in the nursery, which make me feel that my child is in safe and caring hands daily. To say a big thank you to the new manager and all the staff.

It's really easy to communicate with the staff as well and they try to accommodate us whenever we need ad hoc sessions. I highly recommend this nursery for your little ones.

Our experience using the child care services of Cromwell Road Day Nursery has been amazing! Kind staff and a management ready to listen. During moments of concern, we have been listened to. As parents we had concerns about frequent changes in personnel, so far, there is stability which helps.

I have seen many positive changes since the nursery became Cromwell Day Nursery. The freedom of the outside space used a lot more is so very welcomed. The information shared on the parent platford is a lot more detailed and means whoever picks up doesn't need to remember it all. Staff positivity radiants a lot more too. My child is greeted personally by everyone.

My little girl loves going to this nursery every single day, she always excited to get up in the morning and see her carers and friends there. They really know what every children likes, what makes them going and they have something different to play every day. They really look after her and she receives the care she needs.

It is very nice to see my child's key worker from the baby room who is attentive, caring and approachable to talk. In time, we hope to see the same from more members of staff whilst greeting or informing parents at the door.

Our son has recently started at Cromwell Road Day Nursery. The staff in the baby room have been very attentive, kind, and informative, reassuring us that he is in capable and compassionate hands. We have been able to settle him at our own pace, and he always seems to have had a fun time.

Footsteps Day Nursery Hove has supported my nephew's growth and development since when he first started at 6 months old, he is now in the preschool room ready to go off to his next big adventure of school! I always pick him up one day a week and the staff are always so welcoming and friendly - they let me know what he’s been up to and eaten. I must say, when they got taken over by a new company, it came with its uncertainties but it has been such a smooth transition and I can really see the difference it is making. The manager has reassured my sister and myself through this transition and is always happy to answer any questions we have! I am truly sad that he will be leaving soon as the staff here have truly set him up, ready for his future! Five stars from a very happy little boy and family.

My son has been at the nursery for five months now. Firstly, on being given the tour, my husband and I were really reassured how safe the nursery presented. Our son has allergies and the staff really took the time to understand his care needs. Our son is really happy at the nursery and we have been surprised at how much he is learning there. All the staff are friendly and really take interest in his well-being. Of note are two members of staff, in particular, who seem to be his best friends. Thank you from all of us.

Both of my children have been happy at Footsteps Day Nursery. My 7-year-old still talks about his time there, even three years after he left! The staff always give useful feedback at handovers and know my child's likes and dislikes. They've worked hard to help him with areas he's found challenging. The food is prepared on-site and is always "yummy". The team on the pre-school floor are great and the manager has always been very engaged in working with the children. Thank you everyone!

So disappointed in the change in the nursery since this new takeover. No trips, no special events and no leadership in a place that once shone and is why we chose to travel further when we had our second child. Closure of one of the floors for at least 5 months and an upcoming price hike to make your eyes water (£17 increase a day to £69 if using their only booking system on an ad hoc basis - the reason we chose this nursery in the first place). The staff are professional and caring (big mention must go to the Butterflies team), the food is freshly cooked and seems varied, and my child is happy here, which is the main thing, but I would be removing my child if she wasn’t heading to school in September. I cannot uproot her so close to the end. Such a shame the new owners are not interacting with parents/carers. It has left a bitter taste in many parent's mouths.

The manager has been absolutely amazing with my foster child. She has dedicated one-to-one time with him and he has come on leaps and bounds her patience and dedication to her job really shine through along with the rest of the team. Well done Team Butterflies you are always so helpful and kind in tricky situations.

My daughter absolutely loves this nursery and so do we! She is so excited to go every day and talks about the staff like they are her family, especially the manager who has been looking after her for years now. It takes such a weight off as a parent to know your child is being so well looked after. Thank you all so much for your hard work.

My child is leaving and going to a different nursery. Had another child there for 4 years whilst it was Footsteps and it was amazing. Then just before he left for school, ownership changed. This change has been in shambles! Would not recommend the nursery at all. No curriculum being sent, poor communication, have no idea what my child is learning.

Both my son and daughter love the nursery. It's very warm and welcoming. The staff are very caring. The whole nursery team are very supportive not only to the children but also the parents. Overall, we are very happy with the nursery.
