Set in the surroundings of Charlton House, in Charlton Village, Montessori Moments nursery offers designated play areas and endless gardens in which children can enjoy calmness, freedom and harmony.

The light and spacious building has its own parking area and is close to public transport.

Following the teachings of Maria Montessori, the nursery is child-led and bursting with resources to inspire children to explore their interests and develop skills. The nursery is small enough to provide a family feel and has strong parent partnerships. The team use Forest School and The Curiosity Approach as part of the curriculum.

Ofsted and the Local Authority have praised the children’s independence at mealtimes, which are joyous occasions. Above all, most visitors comment on how happy the children are!

We have had an excellent experience with Montessori Moments. At the nursery, we know that our son receives personalised attention from staff who know him well and monitor him to ensure he is doing well at the nursery. We have appreciated the regular communication from the nursery about his progress
as well as about happenings at the nursery, along with the prompt responses we receive from staff whenever we have any questions or comments. We like that the nursery is in a place where the children have access to beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces and access to a variety of activities, along with healthy food.

Both of our children have now attended Montessori Moments and made wonderful memories with the team. From yoga to soft play, to trips to the local reptile shop, buying the ingredients and baking vegan cakes, and climbing trees in the grounds of Charlton House, there are adventures every day.

After a great experience with our first one at Montessori, our second one has now joined too and loves it as much as our first.

We moved from one nursery due to not being impressed, into another (very well known) nursery chain which was pretty terrible. Then on viewing Montessori Moments we got a good feeling straight away. The children seemed happy, the layout allowed big and little children to be separated in an open space
but also allowed for free flow mingling, thus building good social development into their time there. The manager explained the concept of Montessori (search it), which I found interesting. They have good outside activity space and the surrounding park and library to use. We decided to give them a shot and in no time we were satisfied that it was the right choice. From the start we were greeted by first name (a noteworthy effort by staff), we are given regular updates and kept involved. Management are easy to talk to and the staff are friendly, giving a relaxed family feel to the place. Our child loves it there and comes home talking about the activities he has been doing (yoga, cooking etc).

Knowing your child is in a safe, caring and safeguarding places definitely gives reassurance and that's how we feel with Montessori Moments. They have made settling in for my child very easy and always look into any concerns we may had. My daughter has been with the nursery for 5 months and we plan
to keep her on. Amazing staff and management who have made our child feel at home.

I couldn't recommend Montessori moments enough. Our daughter had been there for 2 years and had made fantastic friends and shown great development. The facilities are excellent along with all the staff and the communication. Our daughter is moving to school in September age we will miss all of the staff
and some of her friends. If you are looking for an excellent nursery in the Charlton, Blackheath age Woolwich area, this is it.

Montessori Moments is like a home away from home for my baby girl. I always feel happy and confident leaving her in the care of the staff there. They all care genuinely for the well-being of every child and a lot of attention to detail is given to each child.
They have a great system where updates
of the child is provided via an app, live pictures of the activities (so many fun activities) trips to local village market, beautiful local park, baking, baby yoga, trips to the farm, the list is endless.
Clean and hygienic environment and hot fresh locally sourced meals provided every day.
We love it here!

My daughter has attended this nursery for nearly a year now. I have been so impressed with how much my daughter has come on; not only academically but emotionally too. A clear, sequential curriculum aligned with the early learning goals has enabled this.
The safeguarding is outstanding and the communication
brilliant.
Set in a stunning location in Charlton House, Montessori Moments has equipped my daughter to thrive in an almost village-esque setting. This is what sets this nursery apart from the other 'chain' nurseries. The adults really care about my daughter: she regularly comes home to tell me about all of the wonderful activities she has been able to take part in. Including baking, sports, painting, building etc. She has been set up magnificently, in line with the early learning goals, to move into reception.
The only negative is she will have to be leaving soon to go to 'big school'!

This lovely nursery has been incredible with me and my young daughter who was 2 when she started. Not only are the team impeccably turned out but their knowledge with early years education is outstanding. We love the array of activities available including outdoors, in the stunning Chalton House grounds.
The staff are so kind, supportive and compassionate and I'm so grateful for their nurturing approach with myself and my daughter. She's now a confident little girl who has really come a long way since starting. Thank you so much I really appreciate all that you have done for us.

I can't speak highly enough about Montessori Moments. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Our son had previously struggled in other nursery settings, however, moving him here he settled in so quickly and has been so happy there. The staff are great at keeping us up-to-date through the app
and in person providing updates throughout the day. The facilities and outside space are great and they often take the children outside the main nursery to Charlton Park, whose grounds it's located in which really gives the children a variety of activities. I know our son is happy and safe whilst here and would highly recommend it.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2021

I have 40 years' experience in the Early years sector and am enjoying my time at Montessori Moments more than anything I have done yet, and that includes General Manager, Area Manager and Training & Assessment roles.


With a blank canvas 3 years ago, we have followed our vision and created a nurturing, child-led environment that promotes happy and confident children. There is a wonderful, almost "resort-like" vibe to the setting and children clearly thrive with our approach.


The bedrock to our success has been in the recruiting and effective training of high-calibre staff and maintaining strong communication with parents, the "parent partnership" as it is generally known.


With my vast experience, both in Early Years and as a mother and grandmother, along with a fantastically talented and caring team, we are able to offer a nursery experience second to none, particularly in the beautiful location in which we are blessed.
